Astronomy / Space #PlutoFlyBy - How many are going to Pluto on the 14th? :)

We are almost there! 5 days away from seeing photos from an unexplored planet (screw you guys, Pluto still gets planet title from me).

So how many are going there on the 14th ? :)

Also... is New Horizons shown in-game? I suppose it will have travelled quite far out of the solar system by 3301. Would be kinda cool to catch up to it and say hi :)

Anyways, I'll probably try to get there just for the sake of a photo to put on Twitter to say "I was there" :)

Neat idea :) i like it, Ill also do the same on the 14th
Been waiting to see photos of Pluto since i was a little kid, and after all these years the moment is just days away

very exciting

is it certain that we are going to hit the mark now?
last i checked the scientists seemed a little unsure on how close we would get since we havn't fully mapped plutos 248 year orbit yet.

There was a touch and go moment on the 4th due to conflicting commands to send and to compress data, but they solved that and only missed out on less than 1% of the planned observations (30 observations missed) And the mission is back on track now

So it should all be good failing any unforseen disasters or suprise thargoid appearances ;)

Great news, might see you guys around Pluto the 14th then :)

I've waited 26 years for this moment. I won't be in game, I'll be outside with the telescope pretending I see New Horizons fly past the tiny speck of Pluto I can see.

I dont have a telescope, so as someone who was already alive when the Voyagers zoomed past the gas giants, you bet I'll be on NASA's site melting my F5 key.
