Newcomer / Intro Point Defense or Chaff Launcher?

as i understand it, both fit in the modules slot and dont take up weapon slots.

so which is better?

I mostly use point defense for rocket.
Mostly because they are passive defense.

But if you a bit good you can get more use out of chaff launchers to defend against more then rocket.

2 completely different "tools":

point defence: passive defence against missiles, proximity mines and the cargo hatch-drones ...

chaff launcher: very useful! temporarily breacks lock from turreted weapons and gimballed weapons. You must activate it manually but dont have toassign it to a fire group (you can set a key in control options menue)

so its nice to have them both

Chaff is essential if fighting Python or 'Conda. It doesn't completely avoid their turrets but it's a significant help.
