Its the only thing that gets my son off his  backside    and out into the fresh air, plus he gets some exercise too.

ED go. You capture Thargoids at your local supermarket and trade them to strangers on the Frontier forums. It's a new thing.

My daughter plays it on my phone, she is now level 7 (some of that might be down to me :) )

It would be more fun if the servers werent going berserk every 20 minutes, the weekend was almost unplayable.

It's fun to play with my little girl though, she likes to keep an eye out for pokemon if we are driving somewhere, if we go somewhere specific we can check to see if it is a 'pokemon stop' and grab some items, we dont have any powerful enough to battle yet though.

She got a 10k egg which means we have to walk 10k (driving/cycling doesnt work) to get it to hatch, we are almost there through everyday walking.

Theres not that much too it really, just seems to be about collecting the little critters.

Apparently it's a way to steal mobile phones from kids: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-36814688
Unfortunately there are people in rl that will abuse stuff that people enjoy for their own gain and enjoyment, and just as unfortunately, apparently enough people playing the game that don't use common sense when taking in their surroundings, or walking in traffic, eyes glued to phone and such for example, so yeah...which isn't a fault of the game.

Take this one for example..

Eh?

I'm still playing Ingress

For the Resistance!!!
made by same company, Ingress has more features, coincidentally Ingress and Pokemon Go are made by same company, and shares background data, portal locations basically turned into pokestops and gyms, but apparently pokemon go doesn't really track or similar background event, plus drains a ton more battery for some reason even though less features.

All those Poke JPEGs are super fidelitous and deprive the phone of resources...oops, wrong thread

I originally thought Niantic was going to use Ingress data to fill in the Schemer app, which was an app that could tie together a bunch of nearby landmarks and events into an ad hoc walking tour. Google abandoned that, as it never could really work satisfactorily.

I've been on Ingress since the early beta days. Finding other agents wasn't as obvious as PokeGo players. We generally are standing at street corners, headphones on, thinking portal link strategies and giving a side eye to any passerby who might be thwarting your portal attack. I once tracked an agent all through the city, countering everything he did. I would hide around corners, dart across the street, trying not to be noticed...until an officer stopped me to ask why I was moving so suspiciously.

I'm playing it but as long as they keep banning GPS-spoofing, I don't see it succeeding for much longer.
