I believe that polar bears shouldn't be kept outside the Tundra biome so again I agree with Frontier on this decision. Tundra is a Finnish word that means treeless plain which is perhaps why we don't have Tundra foliage.
But this doesn't only effect polar bears, it effects any animal that needs heater or coolers. I think this is an oversight with the coolers/heaters, not intentional. Or maybe they just didn't test it out at the extremes.
No animal needs heaters or coolers if you keep them in their native biome. I don't mean to sound snobby here, I have a different approach to the game that values the conservation of animals over providing the largest possible variety of beasts for people to look at. I prefer building natural animal sanctuaries that admit people over modern zoos. I've found it's still possible to have a marginally profitable zoo this way and that makes me happy![]()
It is -10 but i’ll send a ticketYou can control the temperature of your coolers (You will also need to ensure they have power) by clicking the cooler. If however you've done this and it's not making any impact then please can you report it on our Issue Tracker for our developers to investigate.
plus i can’t plant trees either because there is no ‘arctic ‘ plants.Have the same issue, the entire habitat is cool enough for the polar bears, but the water temperature can't be changed with coolers, so the bears get low welfare every time they go for a swimRight now this means you can only realisticly have Polar bears in tundra and taiga maps

I think it was adjustable during the Beta(at least the Sprinkler). I don't know why they changed itOn the topic of temperatures, the waterfall enrichment item is too cold for most animals that use it. My hippos always get a low welfare alert after using it because it lowers their temperature too much. The temperature either needs to be warmer (since all the animals that use it are warm-climate animals) or adjustable like with the heaters/coolers.
