Police and Press (long post)

With the release of chain missions, I had two ideas pop up when waking up. I'll talk about them in two different "paragraphs". Both ideas would help Frontier gain new players, and also help all players with gaining money, plus give more freedom of playstyle.

  • Police/Security Enforcer You apply to become a cop in your system of choice, with your faction of choice (subject to discussion). You roam around the system in "patrol mode" and have to interdict anyone wanted. Unlike bounty hunting though, you don't collect the bounties. Instead you're paid over time (by the hour? per 30 minutes?). I'm not exactly sure how much it would have to be, but I'd say probably 100k an hour or something for harmless or mostly harmless or something (obviously scaling with combat rank). You can get a little bonus money from taking out wanted pilots as well (a bit less than their actual bounty since you're 1. A cop. 2. Paid per hour). The way it works to make it fair (imo), is that after scanning a ship, if they come up as wanted, you'll have to interdict them, unless you want to be penalised (lowered pay per hour for example). However, you can decide to skip a target if they are higher ranked than you.

[combat bonuses] As a cop, you get a new item in your utility slot: Some sort of radio that allows you to call for police reinforcements.
[basis] I remember seeing a post about the new ship names allowing for you to type in "POLICE" (link here)

  • Press/News This one is fairly short: You record/take screenshots in conflict zones or exploration trips or surface bases, upload them to either Galnet, or another platform FDev could make up. And the person who uploaded it/made it gets paid depending on the amount of views/likes they recieve. Maybe around 10-50k per view/like? If you're wondering "Who would even bother with Press anyway?" well... I'll explain that in the "basis" section.

[exploration bonuses] Doing this would increase your exploration rank, or maybe even a new rank that comes with the feature. IIRC the imperial blue headed princess is all about manipulating media right? Could increase your rank with her by doing this.
[basis] I found a post about a player who actually already did these things, despite not being paid. (link here)
