What about changing the commodity that has to be delivered to Didi Vaterman
from 200 units of (as of now unavailable) Lavian Brandy to 200 Tons of Water.

Or if naked Water offends the British soul...

I would keep it as it is and it will be better with commodity storage.

I keep saying engineers is not supposed to be a quick pimp your ship, we all should still be undertaking engineer upgrades ten years from now not have it all done and dusted in a number of months.

Storage is irrelevant in this case. You can deliver it in pieces, don't have to bring 200 at once.

200 units of Rare Alcohols (e.g. Kongaa Ale, Centauri Mega Gin, Lave Brandy) might work instead. It would put less strain on one system and encourage players to visit a variety of different places rather than schlep to and from Lave repeatedly.
