Frontier,

I would be very pleased if you would release a ship of this description.

- A medium hulled, "Bounty Hunting" ship.
- Comparable jump range and hard point placement of the DBS.
- Equipped with 2 medium and 2 large hard-points.
- 4 utility slots would be super.
- A decent A5 Shield slot with roughly 500mj (with 2 boosters equipped).
- 16T Fuel tank.
- Boost speed of 400 ms (not too crazy) with decent handling (not Vulture handling, but similar to Courier).
- Enough internals to fit a size 4 scoop and size 2-3 FSDI and a single SCB.

A sexy looking silhouette would be a plus.

If I'm asking too much, or if it's too unbalanced...please feel free to berate me (I can take it). :cool:

That would be nice, like an FAS but more shield focused and able to jump. I like it, faction neutral is really missing something in this department.

I like the sound of that, something along the lines of a counterpart of the FDL, but different in the sense it is slightly more multi role than the FDL

Maybe instead of 2 medium only one medium, to counteract the other things like the better compartments

If you got 2 medium and 2 large on ship with a very high top speed (Cobra, Clipper territory), it would probably be balanced by cutting its handling. So you'd end up with a fast Python missing a large hp and a load of internals possibly suffering power issues. That would seem balanced to me at least.

btw shield class is irrelevant without knowing the mass (an arbitrary number essentially).

Make it four medium HP and it sounds like "The Hunter" to me.

Internals:

1 x Class 4 or 5 (Shield - depends on mass)
2 x Class 3
2 x Class 2

Agility of a Cobra 3 or Viper.

Without the gun placement of the DBS, sounds like a clipper to me.

Or, if you forego the second large point and pick up 2 additional mediums to compensate, it is an FDL.

That's what I'm going for. Something a little different, with a flavor of it's own to give it a good use without being op.

- Similar to Clipper but: Medium hull, less internals and better HP placement.
- Similar to FDL but: Less shield hp, two large turrets to replace the mediums, and no awkward huge HP with better range.

We have so many ships already, it would be way better to get more weapons, utility mounts and internals.

Basically OP is asking for a ship like the FAS or Clipper only with better jump range...why not just ask for increased jump range on the Clipper or FAS?

Sounds like an FAS to me. Or rather an FAS with better jump range, more shields, and more maneuverable.

It'll never happen. It's too much of a 'perfect ship' and Frontier seems pretty adamant about not creating ships that are too good. As a general rule, all really durable combat ships have reduced jump range by design. Even the Anaconda, a ship that can be specced with amazing jump range, has an absolutely abysmal one if you spec it for combat. The Clipper is pretty amazing for it's price, but it does so at the cost of poor weapon placement and being large sized rather than medium.
