I would argue that this perception would be hugely influenced by geography and personal circumstances...politically, where I live is teetering on the brink with an unthinkable and violent worst case scenario. Complicated...so changing the subject...indica or sativa?

Well yes, of course where you are counts heavily towards how things are where you live.
But purely by the numbers, we've never been safer or healthier, that doesn't mean there aren't problems and that living where said problems is less then enjoyable.
Because pre 2000 wasn't exactly a peaceful time either, conflicts though yes, naturally wander to various parts of the world so those living there would suddenly see the problems where before was none, but others would see problems going away.

Only if one the inevitable do gooders reports it or if ppl get silly and start posting up memes and all the fun stuff.

Im of the opinion that if the law is gonna punish me simply fer making my life a bit easier, then I may as well enjoy it, but yer right in that the strains are CBD heavy and mostly indica with the sativa making the stress bearable...usually a 65/35 mix. Theres a little network of us over here and we share techniques, share clones and help out guys who get busted and lost all their equipment and stuff. Used to be a fakebook page fer those with chronic pain to get in touch with those who can supply genuine stuff and not the usual rubbish, but the police busted several of us last year, so everything is very underground now and only among trusted long time friends.

Ironically enough, doing that has increased the pressure to have it legalized...silver lining and all that. Ive tried the oral spray the doctors gave me...useless, barely touches the pain at all and makes me feel sick much like the tablets the doctor give ye only the spray doesnt destroy yer bowel funtions like the legal meds do...and thats the strongest pain meds they can legally prescribe. Genuine weed has almost none of the negatives and all of the advantages so its a bit of a no brainer with the law being nothing more than mildly inconvenient ^

Then again, the single only reason it is still illegal is to protect the big pharma industry who pay billions in tax revenue and backhanders to keep it illegal...they stand to lose a helluva lotta profit by legalization because it would replace two thirds of their own manufactured pain relief products. Gotta love big business and politics hmm? Thats why it was originally criminalised back in the 1930s US after alcohol prohibition ended, with everyone else following suit in the years after...money and politics and had nothing whatsoever to do with health risks. Thats all just propaganda and lies which have since been debunked several dozen times over.

Apologies to the mods fer this but I very passionately fight fer medical legalization real life because the benefits to quality of life is very significant fer a very wide range of ailments, including some cancer treatments. Really in this day and age, only the truly ignorant actually believe the government sponsored lies about it. Stats include the fact that nobody has ever overdosed or died because of it, yet I can buy a pack of aspirin in any corner shop, take the lot and put meself in hospital with a destroyed liver or a pine box...and then theres alcohol which has destroyed no lives ever haha...technically also a drug just like nicotine and caffeine only not created in a lab...natures finest safer than all of them put together ^

Yes, I'm probably crazy. Bash me or ignore me but this really keeps bothering me.

Yes, I understand this is an Off-Topic section and in theory we should be able to discuss anything we want that isn't related to Elite. And yes, the world did go to hell, lately so there's little choice of topics, I guess.
But in my personal insignificant opinion - there should be a line, somewhere, telling us how far off topic from gaming we should go

In the last couple of weeks there were two threads about music, one about film industry and two about specific movies, several utterly nonsensical threads (my favourite kind) and several topics of a category I'd call a "misc." That's fine. It's a bit sad that these threads are usually dying with five to ten replies, but it's fine. Shows where people's minds are.
Then we have one massive Brexit thread, five ongoing threads about Trump, six about religion, two gender equity vs. gender equality bash fests and another several dozens of thread that were at some point tainted and diverted this way, no matter what the original topic was.

I never understood this human need to pointlessly bicker about things. Or human need to try and convince others that they are more right.

Political discussions won't change anything. Not even when politics exercise them. Why do you bother?
Religious debates never lead to understanding, more often than not they lead to the exact opposite.
Gender talks, sooner or later, always slide into who had it worse in the past and who deserves it more to be treated differently. Equality at any cost, even if one side will suffer for it. *claps slowly*

Come on, people. There have to be place where you can talk these talks, but why here? What's the point? What am I not seeing that is so appealing?
To me, if someone goes to newbies section and answers a question that really helps somebody to enjoy the game, or shows us the chair they made for Elite, and hell, even if someone just makes a thread about their cute cat, that one post has more weight in the world than the whole Brexit threadzilla, in my eyes.

In case it isn't apparent, this is my "I quit" thread. Yes, I quit Off-Topic. Why live in a dumpster when the whole galaxy awaits.

Well, if you don't like that most of the active threads in here are about politics/religion/gender, why don't you make a start and open a thread about something else you want to talk about?

That's the beautiful thing here, if there's no thread that interests you, you can just make one and see if people share your interests.
