Hi everybody, title says it all. Best as in makes the most money. If you vote in the poll, please leave a comment with your ship and weapon loadout. Including your Cr made per hour and PP affiliation/rank would be nice as well.
Be sure to post your favorite (most fun) ship for RES hunting in the thread.

I have been conducting tests to try to determine which ship currently makes the most money in HazRes sites. In my mind, only two ships are candidates for the elusive "best bounty hunting ship" title.
The Python and Anaconda.
I've also included the FDL, FAS, and Gunship in the poll. Those are the only other ships that can really compete with the python and conda in pve IMHO.

The Python is fast, but the Anaconda does more DPS. The Anaconda has stronger shields and more banks, but the Python is smaller and more agile, making it harder to hit.
The anaconda is the sure winner on paper, with an extra huge and 2 extra small hardpoints, a class 8 PP + distributor (1+ compared to python), and much stronger shields/SCB. However, the max boost speed is an important advantage of the python, because a considerable amount of time in RES sites is spent flying towards targets and flying towards/away from the center of the RES. The python's maneuverability also lets it avoid asteroids easily, whereas the anaconda will inevitably hit a rock or two per trip.

Overall, even though the conda has much stronger shields and more banks, the python can spend longer amounts time in an RES at once. (Usually I average around 60 minutes/trip in a conda, around 90 in a python). A lot of NPC ships will never manage to even lay their guns on the python before they explode. Like most ships, the python relies on holding your fire until you are directly behind the target. Engaging a target head-on with your python is typically ill-advised. The python can stay on target's tails easily, which allows the python to avoid immense amounts of damage.

All things considered, the anaconda seems slightly better as long as you get good spawns. The extra dps makes up for the shorter staying time and slow boost speed.
I have rank 2 PP with Zachary Hudson (50% bonus twice makes a total of 225%).
I make ~10 million an hour with the Conda on average, the most I ever made in an hour was 14 million. In the python I was getting ~8 million an hour on average. The python was king of the 1.3 RES, but it seems the Conda is the new kid on the block in 1.4, with the addition of HazRes.

My anaconda loadout: 3 large gimballed pulses, 1 large gimballed beam, 2 medium gimballed multi-cannons, and 2 small turretted multi-cannons.
python loadout: 2 large gimballed pulses, 1 large gimballed beam, 2 medium gimballed multi-cannons

Explanation of loadouts: multi-cannons are OP, pulse lasers are OP. The point of mixing beam lasers with the pulse is that you do more DPS, and you still have high DPE (damage per energy), and the power draw on your capacitor is not too fast. Never fire unless you have full pips to weapons.
Testing: I always had multi-cannons in medium/small slots. For the large/huge slots, I tested all fixed pulse, all fixed beam, all gimbaled pulse, all gimballed beam, gimballed beam + gimballed cannon, gimballed beam + PA, gimballed pulse + PA, and fixed beam + PA.

TL;DR I think the anaconda is the best bounty hunting ship in the game, what do you think?

Ooooooo yeah.

Twin Medium beams, Twin Large Cannons.

A class everything with a single B class SCB.

Usually make about 1Mil per haz rez trip before running out of ammo, a good visit will net about twice that. Each visit lasts about 20-30 mins... ish? I never really time it.

For the time being - Anaconda, hands down. No competition.

Huge Shields, tons of Weapons, can carry very large SCB stacks for extreme Station times.
It'll still be farming entire Wings of Pirates when other Ships long had to return for Rearm/Reload or Repairs.
No issues in that Ship to start attacking even large Wings - they'll vanish into your Transaction Tab.

Hard to tell what the upcoming V1.5 changes to SCBs will do about it. But it seems the original intention of making SCBs a "last-ditch" utility and countering SCB stacks have been abandoned entirely.
I don't expect any meaningful changes to the SCB meta unless 1.5Beta4 turns it around again.

What's the objective of this poll ? Finding a cost-effective solution or comparing only the 5 ships ? Because even Vulture with its 2 large hp is a really good farming machine for penniless players such as me. :D And very profitable if tuned in the right way (1+ mil trip), just be careful about wings.

I tried Vulture, FDL, Python and Anacond in Haz res, and i have to say "hands down" that Anaconda is the winner without any doubt.

In RES you just need DPS (i never use SCBs) because you are not getting many hits, so the main thing is how fast you can kill stuff, especially BIG stuff (more bounty credits/hour).

There is no point in being fast (the enemies often come to you to scan, so you dont need to chase them in the map) or smaller.

The CZs are a little big different, IMHO, because you should b able to disengage enemies, run away, avoid direct fire, so mobility and dimensions are more helpful (still IMHO Anaconda is the the best in CZ too).

Python, but then I don't own a conda!
2 Class 3 Turret Pulse for small ships
2 Med cannons for big ships
1 Large Beam under the nose.

The Pulse draw so little energy that the cap still re charges even when they're firing. Letting them plug away when you can't face stops the small ships being an annoyance, and you've always got energy for the rest.

Can make about 2-3mil/trip (1-1.5hrs). No PP affiliation.

In terms of raw credits a hour, it's going to have to be a ship with a c7 or c8 PD and the availability of a large number of c3 pulse lasers. My vote is going to the python but the conda is certainly better at banging up the multi conda wings so it's right up there too.

I like to get around quickly, and was quite efficient in the Clipper. The FAS is similar, so I vote that. Python and upwards feel too slow for me.

The FdL will be up in rankings if the beta changes go live, and I would probably rate that the best depending on your usage of the C4.

Anaconda. 4xLarge fixed pulses for big ships, 2xMedium&2xsmall pulse for small ships and powerplants. 6xSCB. 10x better than python.

Amen brother, PAs are good too, but that 100 ammo issue (same problem with m/cs)..agreed 1-2 mil and duration before reloading..it could be worse: frag cannons <don't get me started> 2 anacondas, a Python and a FDL in a HazRES before running out (30 ammo=10mins), then back to the station..to reload? No!..to replace! What is the frikkin point of that? Balance?..my ass! <oh I got started!>..and relax.

Python. Anaconda runs a real close second. Haz-RES farming is all about time on station. Other ships just don't have the staying power.

Currently I am aligned with Hudson ( level 4 ). Ranked as Deadly with the Pilots Federation. My average is earning is around 5 million an hour ( adding in my Hudson bonuses ).

Vanilla build Python : A-Spec everything, Military Armor, 3xL Gmbled burst lasers, 2xM Gimbled Multi-cannon, 3xA SB's, 2xA6 SCBs, KWS

Full disclosure - only tried Conda in beta (as well as Cutter). It has great shields but spends too much time trying to bring its weapons to bear. If you use turrets, you are helpless against chaff. When the Cutter's awesome 3,000 MJs of shields went down (eg vs Gunship railgun trio wing) I could literally watch half an episode of a short TV show before they were back to full. The Conda suffers from this too.

A Clipper with A7 shields can stay on the tail of any target that can hurt it (ie it cannot even start firing at you). 99% of fights end with you at full shields. For the 1% of screw ups, if you have 2 pulse + 2 MC loadout you can take anything with 4 pips to A7 shields and still fire. For a tough wing, you have endless SCBs that will probably run out long after your MC ammo does. So this makes the Clipper the fastest money making machine.

Since Clipper was not on the poll I went for FAS which has super hardpoints that can be used as fixed against those pesky chaffers but oh, those shields are just a whisker short of adequate. Too often you don't get the SCB coming in on time before it's 'run, Forrest, run' time.

Anny just has to be the winner... I personally run 1 Lg Beam and the rest burst lasers.. the # of SCBs is the kicker.. You can stay out in a REZ all-day... I'm rather upset if I have to return to port before ~40Minutes and 10M in bounties. Anny just does amazing in a HAZ

In 1.3, general consensus was that the python is the best ship for bounty hunting. Now that 1.4 has been out for awhile and everyone is used to the HazRes, the FAS and gunship, I'm wondering what people prefer to use for farming RES now.

I thought the python was still better as well because I can make more money in a trip with the python (longer staying time thanks to being able to avoid ALOT of damage), but then I started experimenting with builds and timing runs, and I found out actually the Anaconda is faster as long as you use mostly pulse lasers on it.

A lot of my friends prefer the FAS for RES farming now since it's very maneuverable and fast.

1) Vulture - Build
2) Anaconda - Build
3) Python - Build
4) FAS - Build

These will obviously change when we see what the official 1.5 numbers look like, but for 1.4, this has been my experience. I know, I put the vulture in 1st place, and it still blows my mind that it's such an efficient killer. You have to pick your fights a little better, but it is still a killing machine deserving of the crown (especially at the price!).

Like others have mentioned, the Vulture is an incredible machine. And like at least one other, I ran mine with a beam and a cannon. It was a thing of beauty.

I voted Anaconda, but that might change shortly. My favorite ship is the FDL, which might bump up to the top or near the top when 1.5 drops. Fingers crossed. :)
