Hey guys. I was contemplating something I'd like to do in the future but it would require knowing where the majority of players are. I don't want to assume that because Frontier is UK-Based that most of the players are from the UK or Europe in general, hence the poll.

Not trying to alienate anyone, either, and depending on the results I may consider more than one location.

Reason for the poll won't come to light for a long time, so I will not give any hints aside from I need to know where most of the players are from, real-life location wise. :)

The real question: Do you guys as players feel that dealing with Elite-related material in real-life breaks immersion? I am asking in regards to the request for in-game chat/forum functions and the argument that needing to use social media for clans/guilds/factions breaks immersion. We all know it's a game, but sometimes lines are crossed.

Would you be interested if there were real-world puzzles or scavenger hunts to complete? Think legit(or not) geocaching, or visiting a real-world location that may have some significance in Elite Lore (if there is any, I'd have to brush up on the books) in order to obtain something... WHich I won't reveal, mainly because the game hasn't been fleshed out enough.
Or would this be too immersion-breaking?

Each to their own, I dare say some would like the idea and some won't.. don't know whether it would be my kind of thing, I'll keep an open mind and wait for more details :)

Sooo, I would go to Yodabashi Camera to find a collectible to upgrade my lasers? I mean, that would be the place to go IRL :D

Geocaching and real world not interested. I think that it's better to have ingame tools because there is an equal and visible playing field.

Well I won an actual Hutton Mug which sits in the desk near my computer, doesn't break the immersion for me at all if anything it reminds me how much fun some aspects of the game really are.

Europe, UK. I am the 70.89% (as time of writing) :p

On the contrary to immersion breaking I find the out of game almost as compelling as the in-game depending on the current state of the forums and how many buff/nerf/code threads there are (currently not that enthused :p). Honestly If I could have a "contributes positively" or "original content" button on the search filter I'd use it..
But enough of that, I love how something small in game can turn into a massive thing (unknown artefact, fuel rats, Hutton mug, galactic records book etc). Sadly i'm a basement dweller type of gamer commonly known as a student. Activities outside of my house that don't involve the library, lectures or alcohol are not worth braving the UK weather for particularly at the moment...

Fair amount of votes over the course of 5 days, but I would like a bit more.

I've picked up one cryptokey. I may pick up more. Currently there is nothing they can lead to as player interaction is extremely limited, but it is something I will definitely seek to utilize in the future.

Wow, didn't realize so many Europeans. I would have thought more from North America. I'm from the United States, but from the one state that is part of Oceania instead of North America.
As I'm writing this, I notice that Antarctica is tied with Asia and is double Africa.

As an ex-pat i'm just thankful that where i live and where i'm from are both part of the same continent, otherwise i wouldn't have known which to vote for.

By the way, there might be one or two players from Antarctica. After all, there must be days/weeks on end down there where they don't have much to do.

Those players from Antarctica might very well be members of GWAR
