Poll: How many ships do you own ?

Simple enough question, interested in learning who owns just one ship and who owns more; whether owning multiple ships (for different uses) is better or whether waiting to afford and run one bigger, all rounder like a Python is more worthy.

Like 8 or 9? I think.

Type 9 for raking in moolah. A fully upgraded Cobra permanently parked at the free Sidewinder spawn location. Another upgraded Cobra to derp around in.

Plus a collection of Eagles, Vipers, and Adders to hold my stash of Overcharged MultiCannons/Lasers, and Low Heat Lasers.

Even when I was flying the multipurpose Python I still had the weapon hoard ships and the last resort Cobra. Just seemed prudent.

I've got four: My Hauler, because I love it. My Asp, because it's a superb explorer. A Type 7 for grinding money whenever I can bother. And the original Sidey for purely sentimental reasons.

Generally I'd say it's always worth keeping a ship you like, but if you're in a hurry to get to the biggest ship as soon as possible then it's more efficient if you sell your old ships.

120T cargo Asp, bounty hunting Viper.

This changes, a lot. Sometimes the Viper is an Eagle for a change of pace, sometimes it is an Adder for scavenging / pirating, sometimes it is a Hauler as I like the sounds of my old yellow van and sometimes it is cash so I can use my 120T Cargo Asp

Type 6 and Viper, sticking around in one system at this time!
trading can get really boring, so after 4 to 5 trading runs i get to viper and start bounty hunting!
i really wish they could implement ship transport! small ships like eagle and viper,
Though i think big ships should not be transportable!

My character likes collecting ships so has 6 of them so far... Sidewinder, Eagle, Hauler, Adder, Viper and Cobra.

My long term plan is to eventually own every single ship.

I have a Sidey, Cobra, Lakon 6 and a Viper, plus my Freagle 144 LY away. I like to trade in the Lakon one day, explore in my Cobra the next day and go Bounty Hunting in the Sidey or Viper when I fancy a change. Having several ships means I don't have to keep re-equipping them when I want a change. Interesting that your assets only includes the ship you are flying, not the others you have in storage. That is a real over site by FD in my opinion.

One day I will go for something larger, but I doubt whether I will trade in any of my other ships.

I like the idea of system-system ship transport in the game.
In fact, if Frontier developed a cargo ship for that purpose there might be a new path for CMDRs to carve.
But I bet the insurance costs would be ASTRONOMICAL lol

One. Since using multiple ships is so incredibly inconvenient in this game I see no reason to own more than one and I also consider all non-multipurpose ships to be useless.

I am a collector and plan on keeping just about everything except for my haulers, i.e. will sell type 6 when I get the type 7.
Eagle (bounty hunter)
Viper (bounty hunter)
Cobra (explorer)
Asp (jack of all trades)
type 6 (trader)

Looking forward to picking up the type 7 and the Python, hopefully in the near future.

Um, 4.

My Sidewinder, which I parked somewhere and haven't gone back.
My Viper which is parked somewhere else not too far from the Sidewinder but got left behind when I wanted something with more range.
My Cobra, which is my current ride.
My Freagle, which is exactly where it started, I've never been there.

A T6 hauler and a Viper. Viper's a new experiment and I'll probably go back to the Cobra. I don't plan on flying a bigger hauler than the T6, but I may buy something bigger as a "savings account" after a few more million.

more and more cos I sometimes buy a sidewinder to get another ship to a location and then leave the sidewinder behind.

I have a Lakon-7, ASP and my beloved Cobra. I would like to have my Viper, but can't be bothered with trade grinding right now (need 4m to equip it). I'm currently poor, doing combat and resort to trading when my credits drops below 2m.
