Hi. As we are mostly aged/ageing/young differently :) i would like to see what kind of experience/knowledge of todays MMO's we have

I play only mmo/multiplayer online at least 10-20 hours a week.

I don't play any MMOs right now as I can't find one that I really like.

although I did used to have a serious WoW addiction, and I mean serious. I played 6-8 hours every single day and for close to 4 years straight!! I even cancelled family things and appointments to play. it was very very stupid but its incredibly hard to get off but thankfully the community became so repugnant and vile and blizzard kept adding things I loathed (ie achievements, pet battles etc etc) so in the end it wasn't that hard to quit.

I have played many mmos. Ultima Online, Everquest 1-2, Guild Wars 1-2, LoTR, Star Trek online, Star Wars etc etc but thankfully none were ever as addictive as wow was.

Except for UO and Eve, I haven't played any MMO for a longer period of time (Very little DAOC, AOC Beta and TES online Beta).

Don't play any MMO at the moment, so I picked option 1 - if a game has decent multiplayer, I prefer multiplayer though.

I used to play WoW for up to 10h/week. Before that didn't play much MMO. Regarding space - I used to play X-Terran Conflict but its not MMO.

In fact - I play board games mostly which I find most interesting. Binds you with real life friends and family... unlike staring at computer screen... ;-)

I dont play mmo... i tried STO, WoW, Old republic... but this is not my style games.
I would like to play mmo but in not above mechanics.

recently iam playing only Elite.... in OpenPlay, on TS and this is what i like.

In Elite i miss some social hubs. Galactic pub on station, walking around ship with my mmo friends to show new helmet on avatar on decals on ship.
This simple things connecting people.

Elite is very purified and impersonal - this should be improved.

+1! You're 100% right!

I don't play many MMOs anymore, because most MMOs are unoriginal or mediocre. When I play great, engrossing MMOs then I can put in 20-30+ hours per week.

I voted "Don't play MMOs", but I used to. I just got bored with the repetitiveness of them.

I played World of Warcraft from launch until around the time that the Burning Crusade expansion was released before I got bored of the gameplay.

I played EVE Online from launch off and on until around 2008.

I tried Conan but didn't bother with it after the first month, likewise with LotR Online.

Since then I've not touched an MMO nor seen one that looks like it's doing anything different enough to make it worth looking at,

I used to play a lot of WoW few good years ago... Wrath of The Lich King was the last expansion I played. Our guild disbanded due people's other commitments and it all kind of died off.

I tried a few other MMO's after that, but they were full of silly kids so I never bothered.

I never play MMO. Immersion is my main goal and that what makes an MMO MMO always is counterproductive to immersion.
I used to do a lot of Quake and Unreal Tournament multiplayer many years ago because immersion is not important for those types of games. But I noticed that in general online attitudes went downhill pretty fast so I stopped my involvement with online gaming completely. If ED would have been MMO/multiplayer only I would not have taken the risk to get involved. Even in alpha and beta the typical mp/pvp cracks are already visible. I am glad ED offers the option to remove other humans from my game.

I chose the first option, although I have tried out several MMOs. I just never could enjoy the "social" aspect of them or the compromises that they made in order to host dozens of gamers at a time (super wide streets, humongous rooms, caves etc.) - and gave them up quickly.

I have pretty flexible working hours so I can usually manage 10 - 20 hours.

But then I might take time off from MMOs and splurge on a week long Total War fest.

Hardcore here. Been playing WoW and EvE on and off for more then 8 years, played SW TOR for 3 years, tried Age of Conan, Rift, Guild Wars 1 & 2, LOTRO, STO, ESO, Everquest II, Neverwinter, SW Galaxies, Defiance. Probably forgot some MMOs too... :)
And I hope Elite will keep me out of the real world for a long time. :)

I let honorbuddy play WOW for me if I want i do some PVP when i have Time. Sorry to say this but if you seen haw effectiv that Bot Quests and Gathers you never want it to do by yourself.
