Poor Animal Textures

Hi there, when playing the beta I was very happy with the textures and quality of my animals but since the launch I havent been able to replicate that quality. I have tried fiddling around with my GPU settings and I am currently running the game on Ultra settings. My pc has an Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 and is perfectly capable of running most games on at least Medium/High. this is somewhat limited by my older processor. I have searched the internet for solutions but have so far only found people with similar issues but no resolutions. Curious to see if anyone else has this or has found a fix.

I have the same issue with the same card. It's not just animals, it's building and object textures too. Oddly, though, the people look fine. I raised a ticket and they gave me a speculative fix that didn't do anything, and now I'm waiting for a reply back.

The main thing that bugs me about this is the fact that Planet Coaster uses the exact same engine and runs fine. Planet Zoo really doesn't look that much better, so I don't understand why it's so much more demanding.

Same issue here, but with the GTX 1050. A lot of people have this issue with different Nvidia Geforce cards:
They keep saying that they're working on a fix tho, so I'm still waiting on that.

Many people with nvidia card, especially the 1050 and 960, have this problem and there a already some threads about it ;) Frontier knows and is trying to fix it

It has 2 GB of VRAM, which is probably the problem according to Frontier. But my animals in Franchise mode looked fine in the Beta, so I’m hoping they’ll still be able to fix it!
My Laptop has a 1050 Ti with 4GB and I still have the problem. Everything else works just fine

AMD Radeon R7 Graphics. Textures are blurry in sandbox at the start, but in franchise they're fine first ~30 mins, after suddenly become blurry

Since this is not a general problem, are there any screenshots of both blurry and good looking textures so i can compare them? Since I din't play the beta I don't even know if my game looks good or bad. :D I'm curious if I have this issue.

This is a known issue we are looking into; as soon as we have more information we will update you. It's helpful to see everyone's graphic card info, so thanks for posting that and apologies for the inconvenience!

My info if of any use.

I have a GTX 1050 ti 4GB, combined with a i5-6500, 8 GB RAM, Win10 and all textures are fine on my side.
Installed the latest Nvidia update last saturday. (which was from before that date). But even before that no issues.

Same problem. Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB. Animals, trees, stones and buildings textures are blurry. Thanks for your attention!

This is what my blurry lions look like

It looks similar to a problem that used to happen with Elite Dangerous when planets were first introduced. When you landed and went into the hangar the walls would be very low detail and blurry like the textures in Planet Zoo.It also affected other areas of the game as well. Perhaps it's an engine related issue?

So I just updated the game with the latest patch and now my animals look great! Some other textures are still blurry (some rocks and foliage), but I'm so happy that my animals are finally looking like they are supposed to. I've got a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 2GB and a Intel i7-7700HQ.
