Hiya! I'm sorry to ask this but... some friends and I said "Let's play CQC! YAAAY!" We didn't say yay but... anyway, my pal said "Ooo there's an update" Ok ok. Fine. So I grabbed your amazing new thing then I clicked the designated button and... it's... wow. After an hour I'd say it's not even half way there so our fun spontaneous wee CQC match is out the window. The the thing is though, my pal is saying "No no, cancel it and start again" even though I can see it slowly moving. I don't want to be mean or horrible but.... ? This is.... well I'll tell you what it is. Meaningless. I don't care. Goodbye and so long as I can't imagine anyone can help me within the time it takes me to... *THUD*

Did you begin downloading the 64-bit version of the game, while having the 32-bit version fully updated?

Check your net speed, http://www.speedtest.net/

Check your MTU speed in your TCP/IP config settings, should be 1500.
Don't stream while updating your game.
Make sure no malware is on your system. https://www.malwarebytes.org/
Make sure plenty of room and your hard drive and that you have ample temporary cache space.

I clicked on the 64-bit upgrade after updating the client, yeah. I know what I'm doing, son. I'm not some johnny come fly by night lately in time by nine. This is the slowest bloody... I want to say I'm angry but I'm not. It's like when your wife beats you for a few years you just drop your hands and close your eyes. We were looking forward to this and now it's too late. I could probably make money streaming my loading bar. All the rage just now. Anyway. Back to Rainbow Six Siege and my "pewpew".

Oh fabulous. It disappeared suddenly and now I have to start it again. Yaaaaaaaaaay. As I said before. Don't ban me as I can be helpful. I can tell you where to shove your game.

You could just get a Steam code and have Steam handle the upgrades while you're gone. When I get home, my game is up to date every time. I bought Horizons through the Frontier store without a Steam key and even it got updated through Steam.

I wonder how many time I can say Steam in a single post?

Sometimes games get updated. You have to download the updates. Sometimes that takes longer than you'd like. Sometimes it happens when you want to play. It's too bad.
