Popontia has no on foot Odyssey game play options.

In no way does having Odyssey mean you'd get on-foot CG's. You could complain maybe if there was a CG and it only had on-foot content, barring those players with only ship access from them, but even then, they can do that. There's no part that promises any conditions for CG's, or CG's at all, for that matter.

Then you missed out honestly. War CG is actually the best time ever for on-foot PvP. It's like Woodstock, the whole community gathers together on one designated ground CZ for several days in the row.

The 6 last war CGs (Aug 2021 to Feb 2022) all included on-foot (see the playlist in my sig). It's one of the most demanded event across the dozen of Cmdrs on my Discord. The interest for on-foot combat is slowly dying with this absence of CGs. 😥
War what now? I do ground CZ's a lot but almost always only vs AI...where do I go for PvP action?

It's just another way to tell EDO-users "We don't care for you anymore, we already have your money!" :sneaky:

Horizons 4.0 rulez! Why buy the extension, if you don't care for on foot... you will get new stuff anyway... except some fancy skirts for your commander of course...

Well, they probably made ground combat bonds much too generous in the idea of promoting on-foot and OD. It's smart because most people do PvE mainly (no need CG for that). But now it creates a pit-fall with the CG's balance.

Like I said, the best source was CGs, so it kind of conflicting with your first point about "not needing to ask for more CGs". 😬

Otherwise you can join our Discord, the Elite On-Foot Combat Community (link in my sig). We organize events, tournaments and whatnots, to try to palliate the problem. 🤠

So the solution is to keep those ppl out, who bought the expansion? With the only new content from all gameplay why we bought the expansion? The only expansion you need to pay for.
I always knew FDev got some very strange marketing strategies...
Now giving all new stuff for free to everyone... I have never regretted buying EDO a long time ago... however, since 4.0 i really ask myself if it was necessary. Well... we will see what future brings.

It's indeed very ironic that they just released EH 4.0 as a "demo" to encourage people to switch to OD... and two weeks later organize the first ever war CG that doesn't include on-foot... 🥴

So, as you said earlier, I've missed out? I see. Dang, that sounds fun.
Will check that out later, thanks!

That would probably have stopped some of this endless discussion about 4.0 access for EDO-users... Why care for no-foot with whoever don't want to pay for, if you could play the full game...

You'd have to achieve parity. That would either mean nerfing ground combat bonds and compensating with massacre missions or buffing space combat bonds and removing massacres there.

They could place medium CZ's instead of Highs. Those are much closer to the space CZ's in credits.
Finally, I'm not super fan of the idea. Medium Intensity is a bit too easy and boring when you have Grade 5 gears. But still, it's a better solution than not having on-foot at all.

Personally, I would even prefer that they apply a percentage reduction for on-foot bonds during CG, and give us High Intensity instead.

Makes sense to me, sounds like a reasonable idea.

Buff space CZ payouts.
As an on-foot player I would personally be fine with this.

I would say buff space CZ payouts and make it so you loose bonds when destroyed.
Otherwise there is no point in PVP in CZs as all your doing is wasting a players time as atm they cannot loose bonds :(
Also it makes destrution in CZs or while doing Thargoids trivial, which it should not be.

Oh yes and facilitates a synth rearm exploit.

Completely agree with all this.
There isn't any reason for bonds to be kept upon death. The most frequent excuse offered is that it's to make sure they're not lost while doing a ground CZ, but those deaths don't go through the ordinary death-loop; you additionally don't lose cartography, exo-biology or ship inventory when you die in ground combat because it's a completely different mechanism. Having combat bonds being treated differently makes no sense.
