Posadism and You or Why we should be embracing the Thargoid invasion

Over a millenia ago, in 1962, a great man named J. Posadas founded the Fourth Internationale (Posadist). Posadas had originally believed that nuclear war would bering about global revolution, finally stamping out capitalism and elevating the workers to their rightful place. That piece of his hypothesis is, of course, irrelevant now that we have all taken to the stars. A nuclear war on a single planet (or even a few) would no longer devestate enough of humanity to force change. The more important contribution of Posadas and his followers was the idea that aliens - advanced races from beyond our reach - would bring us out of the dark ages.

Posadism hypothesizes that an alien race sufficiently advanced enough to travel through space would have moved beyond capitalism and governments. While clearly, many humans have tenaciously clung to both of these ideas, there is still validity to Posadas' ideas.

The Thargoids have shown us, so far, that they are unconcerned with wealth. They share resources in the form of barnacles, there do not appear to be any transactions taking place, and no laborers are being exploited as far as we can see. It may be early, yet, but aside from military applications, they do not seem to have an heirarchy, either.

Some may say that there's evidence of a war between two separate Thargoid factions, but have we seen actual evidence of that? I have yet to see two Thargoids vessels fire at one another. No, instead, I believe this is propaganda from the governments of the galaxy (who conveniently ended their hostilities just before the Thargoids came under attack). The State, and Capitalism, never go quietly, and they will do all they can to make us believe that these aliens are evil, wicked creatures, instead of the liberators they truly are. That the Thargoids attack us now is only because of those governments' actions.

What we need to do is embrace the Thargoids, reach out to them somehow. Forget researching new weaponry, let's research new communications technolgoies in an effort to speak with them. Let's ask them for help in casting off this yoke of oppression so we can live peacefully alongside our fellow communist neighbors, the Thargoids.

Neither an ant colony do trading, they come, pick what they need and bring it back to the hive, this simply becouse they don't have a microeconomy, just, go out and find food / materials.

Enough food = hive expands
Not enough, weakes die

Posadas seemed to be convinced that his system was way superior than the other (not entering into deep politics, no.. really) and wanted to obliterate the opposite.

Personally, i would not like to live in a hive herarchy no matter what position you are fordced into.
There is a difference between being biologically made for that one task or being a bilogical "multi purpose" and forced into that task.

Thargoids could even be high technological geniouses, but that dosen't mean that they could also be intelligent in other ways like art or at social interactions.
It could be that they don'even have creativity, if something goes out of their usual scheme it could be attacked or simply ignored.

I will be the first to confess [but I don't expect to be the only one if people were honest!], that had to Google Posadism before actually opening the thread, just from its title in the forum list when browsing new posts this evening!?!

Here's the trick...our motivations (social, economical or political) aren't particularly relevant here. The simple fact is that - as the population of this particular galaxy - our actions have been just as predictable as that of an ant colony.

The only difference is that instead of food as the resource in question, we have pew-pew (which appears to be the majority's view).

The Thargoids have shown us, so far, that they are unconcerned with wealth.

A lot of people confuse money with wealth - money is not necessarily a measure of wealth. For example, I would be more likely to measure my wealth in the currency of time. So it can be fairly said that money and the management model of distribution could be totally irrelevant for different species.

Once you realise that the human experience is very much defined by the integration and interaction of the wiring of our organism and the environment we exist in, then it's not a far leap to say that the expression of a sufficiently different organism will be so far removed from ours that we would either not recognise or understand it.

I think if everyone on earth had even the simplest understanding of what we do know about our brains (and we know far from everything about it) then our civilisation would be entirely different. I believe we currently place too greater importance on our illusions, delusions and words about words. Our reality is a unique expression of our organism, and our organism is a unique expression of the environment; so our reality, as experienced in our brains, is simply an expression, ie not the supreme absolute description of the universe.

Attempting to understand an alien organism using the thought mechanisms of our specific brain circuitry could be seen as a futile exercise - or as best, a form of human poetry.
