In some zoos that I visited and others that I know, but never visited, some animals that made the history of the zoo or other animals in general are embalded and exposed in a little zoo's museum.
An example is the "Endangered Species Museum" in Bioparco di Roma, where fur, skeletons and some embalmed animals are exposed to raise awareness; I think it could be a way to remember the animals that you loved in your zoo and their remaining could count as educational material.
