Possible enhancements to the navigation tab

It seems to me that the galaxy map and system map are 2 totally separate applications designed by different people rather than having an integrated consistent feel. I rarely use the system map and the galaxy map in particular is often overkill when looking for simple information. Some ways you could make my life a little simpler would be if:

1) Each destination system in the navigation tab has the faction logo next to it. This would be useful if you are looking to cash in bounties and want to see the nearest Federation system in range, unfriendly with the Federation and want to avoid all their systems, or just want somewhere friendly to dock.

2) Similarly, having to load the galaxy map every time I want to check to see if the target system is anarchy or safe is a pain. It would nice if the navigation tab was more informative with some visual indication on the security of the systems.

What I am getting at, the list of systems in the navigation tab should show some visual information about the systems to help the player make informed choices without having to check maps. (faction, am I wanted, government). The maps still have their role for deeper information.

3) Not sure how you do this, but often I am heading in a general direction but don’t want to set a course. For example, travelling from Lave to Shinratra via the scenic route, but also valid if you are exploring heading towards the core and want to pick out interesting targets on the way without committing to a pre planned route. The navigation tab as it is, shows a list of possible jumps but doesn’t help me know if I am heading the right same direction each time I jump, so I have to constantly switch the galaxy map to check the course. Perhaps it would be possible to have a new tab that displays a mini map showing the layout of the stars in range so I know I am heading in the same general direction each time.
