Possible update suggestion for Imperial Cutter

The Imperial Cutter contains 2 sections in the optional area of the ship that are military only slots. I use this ship strictly for trading and have no need for the military options and was wondering why normal add-ons (EG: cargo containers) can't be slotted in the military slots? Is it possible to change these slots to accept other things - like cage containers?

They where added this way to EXACTLY prevent what you are suggesting.

And these where modelled by how the Passenger ships used to have their locked Passenger cabins, and took FDev a while to admit that these sort of locked slots for Passenger ships where bad, and finally removed this lock.

Once FDev had added the Military slots, people started to request Explorer only slots, and if we had gone down that road, we would have ended up with ships that would have had one of more different types of locked slots, Military, Exploration, Mining, etc. Just the confusion on how military slots worked proved how unituitive this design was, the should in my opinion never have been added to the game.

[edit]
Where added to the game in this update

The Cutter is supposed to be a military ship, the opposite of the Corvette, just following the principles of Gutamaya design.
I speculated in another thread that these "slots" are to indicate additional armour or shield cells distributed around the ship, taking space from walking areas for example.
I think only the T7 and T9 got more optional space to make them relatively competetive in their field.
