Given the success of Fox’s reboots of The X-Files and 24, and Prison Break returning this year, Fox Broadcasting President of Entertainment David Madden said he’d be open to a Firefly reboot if Joss Whedon himself wanted to revisit it. Madden suspects Whedon is now too busy with movies, and he would not consider doing Firefly without Whedon.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Interesting.....

Well I'm going to be 'that guy', but I just couldn't really get into Firefly. Maybe I should give it another go, but I only managed to watch like 4 episodes. :)

I couldn't even get through Battlestar, and I really liked that! lol.

I can see why people really liked Firefly, though. A show depends on the strength of its characters, and that one did have some good characters.

I kind of agree with you. I couldn't get into the show; didn't really like the wild west in space aspect of it. Fortunately for me, my gf is a hardcore fan and I got to really enjoy the show a lot through forced viewings. What got me hooked were the intriguing characters, and, I have to say, the quality of the stories got better and better. Also, I loved the design of the Federal ships, they were very interesting and reminded me a bit of the Nostromo in Alien.

It's a jerk move after all this time. Wash is dead, Book is dead. Morena's tied up with different projects. Adam Baldwin is on the Last Ship. The only thing the idea has going for it is that Nathan Fillion is free at the moment.

You're not alone. I watched the whole thing and never actually got why people liked it. I love Sci-Fi, and liked Buffy a lot, so I'm ok with Whedon in general. Firefly... no. Sorry.

I will probably get crucified at the spot, but...do we need it? If you think about it. Original show is a cult classic now. Hype would be at surreal levels. And you know what hype does? It kills things. Even good things. It would almost certainly fail only because of unrealistically high expectations.
Also, as others pointed out at this moment - it's a total <ahem> move trying to revive it now. After all the people who got involved are busy with other stuff. Maybe they should've not close one of the highest praised shows in the first place? Clearly a bunch of idiots running the business on that channel.

That space ship sailed long ago. Red Dwarf is better.

Did he just say ... oh boy ... this is gonna be good.

Not sure they could return to the series by continuing the plot anymore. A reboot might happen, but I wonder if they could find a cast of actors as good as they did the first time. I'd miss Morena Baccarin and Nathan Fillion, at least.

This is were space films are at anyone seen going to see?
