Possibly new alien noises from inside ship

This may be nothing new, or something else, but I only noticed it for the first time while landing at waypoint 5 on the Distant Worlds Expedition. (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=198085)

I took a while to land on the eerie green planet, and as soon as my engines turned off I began to hear these strange noises which seemed to be coming from different parts of my ship (note they stop when I go into the external camera mode). At one point I could hear hissing right behind the door to my cockpit, and I thought I could hear a spacecraft outside which sounded very alien but no marks appeared on the radar and it could have been some ambient sounds.

I didn't manage to record the best parts because I was too slow, and then my music bugged so I had to stop recording as it was too loud.

Tell me what you think! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhrHaxQrEkQ

Try the srv, do you hear it there as well?

Bad news fella, you've got a bad case of space critters there. Don't worry about it, my bud will sort ya out. Won't be too expensive. And once he gets rid of them, they won't come back..

..alone.

Barnacles are organic and supposed to be found in nebula's, perhaps a drive in the SRV will uncover onee?

Update: I logged on again today and still hear the sounds, I went to have a look in my SRV but the sounds can only be heard in the cockpit of my ship. I did find someone else who could hear the strange noises on their ship, it's possible that there is a barnacle on the planet but I had a search with another cmdr and we couldn't find anything nearby other than simple wrecks and materials.

Anyone who is part of the Distant Worlds expedition, and is landing at waypoint 5, it's worth turning up your volume and having a listen to see if you can hear it as well. I'd be very interested to hear if anyone can uncover anything more!

All the ships make these noises. They are simply ambient background noise. They have always been there, but we often never notice.

Listen to the hauler, it has some of the best sounds, a bit like "Predator".

There are plenty of clips on youtube of this, if you aren't in position to get into one.

The only other person who has confirmed hearing the noises was on the same planet and in an Asp, I've not heard these specific types of sounds before at all - but I could have easily not heard them up until now so it's perfectly possible that it's the same on every Anaconda/Asp. The feedback I've received so far seems to be that other people haven't heard this before though, so I'm leaning on it being something new.. I'll have to check on the next planet I land on for sure.

Also for those wondering, I couldn't see anything in my cargo and I haven't had a chance to visit a barnacle yet/carry meta-alloys so I don't think it's connected to carrying those. That would make for an interesting story plot though!

You know, I'm pretty sure someone who flew the Anaconda 6500ly from the bubble would know the usual sounds well enough to be sick of them.

EDIT: OTOH, and this might be more interesting to people having time to waste googling YouTube, thermal expansion/compression of metal structures can produce the weirdest of sounds. Tried to find some to show, but I found a bunch of ASMR things instead, so I'll spare you.

I don't know. Those noises are ship specific, and someone in a T6 heard the three same sounds as the OP. I am familiar with the Asp ship sounds. They are simply coms chatter bleeps and crackle, but these sounds in the OP are not the standard human EM background noise. They are something quite different.

It is quite creepy. But does it happen on every planet? Or parked in space?

When your thrusters are off you can hear all the weird little background sounds in your ship. Each ship seems to have its own set. I remember in my python I occasionally heard a metallic scraping behind me, very creepy.
