Post 2.2 bad lag and planetary stutter

Hey guys
Before I open a ticket has anyone else experiencing massive lag and stuttering around planets on 2.2 ? or could it be my rig ? It ran fine pre 2.2. All drivers are upto date and I have even lowered my res to minimum. Has anyone figured a workaround before I bother FD please ?

Cheers!

I've noticed the game a but more stuttery as a whole since the update. I don't have a monster pc but it is running a R9 390 so shouldn't really have any bother. It never did before!

Yup seeing the same and i have 2 980 ti's in SLI
CTDs every 15 mins or so
The WANTED bug is back ..... i just launched my fighter at the res and suddenly me and my ship were wanted with no other ships around
then another ctd
Then when both of us go back after CTD we cant see each other (solid blue dot for where wingman should be) - old bug since 2.1 never fixed

The lag is really bad when coming into a new instance either at the res or at a station or planet for the first 30 seconds as stuff gets loaded
It then improves but is still laggy ... although shows 60FPS on game counter but theres frame drop

Stability, as usual with a new release for me has dropped to 1/5

Ive been on since this morning and have just had my 11th CTD .... my wingman on a very different PC setup sees exactly the same

I have uploaded 4 crash dumps this morning so i hope this will be looked at urgently as its unplayable for more than 15 mins for me at the moment
(in wing at res fighting .... thats how we play).

Bad when entering normal space at a space port. Dropping fps badly.

Flimley

yep i see this too. if you sit for 20-30 seconds its should improve . I have noticed my GPu utilization on each card has doubled in terms of workload . I have a G19s keyboard that shows me whats going on with the whole system when im in game. Prev util was around 40% its 80% now. Im on the latest nvidia driver.

geforce 375.70 just installed and geforce experience no longer recognises elite for optimisation - even after game scan

Perhaps we all need a 10** series card now ;-)

Ok looks like it's not my GPU then and I presume FD know about it. I hope it's a quick patch as I have had to abandon my ship in orbit over a planet as it's pretty much unplayable.

Same problem. The only way to play is: exit the game near the planet i wish to land on, so the shaders reload and fps is restored; that is, untill the next planet.

Definite framerate drop since 2.1, and longer loading transitions to boot. Also for some reason the escape menu takes upwards of a minute to load sometimes, and again when trying to open one of the settings menus. I can understand performance problems in some parts of the game, but the bloody menus?

The same here. Having rather high specs and not seeing anything below 60 fps before 2.2. Now 55-57 and serious drops when dropping to new system, near stations etc. Other thing I noticed is that quality of AA went seriously down too.

yup got stutters near surface as well....

HMM stuttering usually means memory - didnt the surface textures got better ?
I think they did.
So perhaps lowering planetary ... wait a sec... they should really call settings by proper names.
"terrain quality"
"terrain material quality"

FD guys ....what the ...     ?

just call it: surface model detail, textures quality, filtering, post processing for terrain, decals of terrain
Stop inventing names. This is here for decades. We all know what means what.
Please FD use proper names, this can mean anything.

Same here. I just came here to see if it was just me. My system is pretty beefy and had absolutely zero issues before the update.

Would new planetary textures also apply in asteroid fields as well, not really getting frame rate drops but getting hanging instead,Plus as any body have a issues with the station menu sometimes it's very slow to respond and the and The Fuel Repair and Restock bars can extend out of the menu entirely

Same here Guys, come to head today. Long delays accessing station services, others I play with are not experiencing the same.

Oh, I thought my recent high of 5 FPS on planets on low was because my computer sucked. I can't say I'm glad to hear I'm wrong. You are not alone.

Doesn't fix it I'm afraid. I'm on a EVGA 1070sc.

Yes TC I have this issue too. Every so often just get a massive spike of janky frames. it's unpleasant to say the least

I'm also having massive stuttering near planets, also long delays when opening station services, galaxy map, station map.
