Engineers Post-Beta Combat

After updating last night, I spent a couple of hours (in solo mode) bounty hunting in an H-RES with my tricked out MkIII ,and here's what I noticed.
  • AI is much smarter (for instance, if you attack a member of a wing, the other members will attack you immediately)
  • AI is much more aggressive, taking out Eagles used to be a piece of cake, now is a piece of pie ;)
  • Many more defense forces in H-RES than before (I had to move fast to even get into the fight)
  • Many more interdictions (I actually had a wing that I had attacked follow me into super cruise and interdict me!)

I must say, it was exhilarating.
 
Its pretty amazing isn't it, heart pounding action instead of shooting fish in a barrel. I love it. I haven't died yet, but I am sure I will soon.
 
That dogged wing I mentioned knocked me down to 20% hull with, "critical internal damage," then they followed me into super cruise, yikes! I managed to get away by the skin of my teeth.
 
Yup, it's much better IMO. Rank is much more important - a master Python was easy pickings but a Deadly Eagle was a PIA. He was intentionally avoiding my firing range, always sticking behind me or off to the side. I tried a few tricks but eventually had to resort to a head-on approach and trade DPS for DPS with him.

Another Elite Cobra I fought was popping SCBs like they were candy, utilizing constantly jousting me using his speed and better maneuverability to gain the upper hand. I'd get a few shots in at him, almost bring his shields down and he'd retreat, pop an SCB and re-engage. Once his shields were down and it was clear I was going to win, he high-tailed it out of there. That was annoying but in some aspect, welcomed.
 
I would add that this update makes me think twice about tryiong to solo an Elite pirate, and after a drubbing from a Python and 2 asp scouts in a wing I will be more cautious.

Fabulous isn't it! There I was on a nice simple mission to collect some data. Scan worked beautifully and pointed me right at the location and a somewhat enigmatic description of a "Threat 2" . Exited SC to find huge amounts of wreckage (think remake Star Trek movie #1) and a bunch of villains. In my excitement I forgot to complete scan on the first small fry in the wing of 4 so not only had them all attacking but then the security forces joined the party. Had to leave in a hurry once the shields went down and the hull started going down with alarming rapidity.... (but now with murder on the sheet for the small fry). Absolutely brilliant.
 
wingmembers attacking you isn't anything new and having more cops in the belt has nothing to do with AI.

Been hunting the same RES for the two weeks previous to 2.1 and never saw anything like this. 10-15 cops at a time sweeping wave after wave of pirates away like trash and hardly any miners. Just freaky.
