Post-gamescom catch up: SATURDAY

Day three complete! We are still going strong and finished another set of amazing livestreams. Here’s the overview of today’s highlights for you to enjoy:

• Create, manage, share: welcome to Alpha 3 of Planet Coaster! Today we focused mostly on the SHARE aspect of our new build.

Save and Upload Your Blueprints

In Planet Coaster you can save any creation as a blueprint, such a rollercoaster or a set of scenery (like a park or food court), and even your entire park. Once saved, you can upload said blueprint to the Steam Workshop, where other people can then download them into their game. This makes it incredibly easy to share your creations with friends or players anywhere in the world, and allows anyone, regardless of simulation building experience, to be an awesome creator!

Share Your Work on Steam

Planet Coaster will be fully integrated with Steam, so you must have a Steam account to be able to play. The Steam Workshop will be your central hub to publish, download, or organise your Planet Coaster content. It will store your local blueprints and allow you to discover what other players have been creating.

Connect with Friends Across the Globe

It will also be easier to connect with friends; the globe you’ll see when you start the game now displays your Friends, Steam connections who own Planet Coaster, as well as Celebrities (a creator chosen by Frontier), and people or parks you’ve subscribed to in Workshop. You can place your own avatar HQ and pick which game mode you’d like to play!

We were joined by Olli43 and the wonderful De-Lady-Signer who went hands-on with the game and created some great moments on the big screen.

To see all these fantastic new features in action, you can rewatch the entire stream via our official YouTube channel here!

Part 1: Q&A with Rich & Andy, and Olli43's second chance to play Alpha 3!

Part 2: De-Lady-Signer taking to Alpha 3 like a natural!

If you’d like to play Alpha 3 now and provide us with valuable feedback during Planet Coaster’s development, please visit our store and pre-order the game before August 25 to gain access to the build up until Beta and release; you can also check our forum for more information here.

Thanks for the support everyone; tomorrow is the last day of gamescom, so be sure to watch again (Sunday) at 12:00 CEST for the next developer stream, and both 13:00 CEST and 16:00 CEST for the community streams.

Have a good night,

The Planet Coaster Team.

Great stream today, but I still haven't seen a blueprint of a ride/coaster with scenery/buildings attached. Maybe I missed it?

Hi all! The VODs for the stream have been added to the thread (sorry it was not earlier, I wasn't able to get to a computer.) They're in two parts, because YouTube is lovely and sporadic about whether it splits the videos. ;)

Enjoy the full stream if you missed it earlier, and of course all the videos we've shown so far are in the Gamescom 2016 playlist... which I'll just leave right here.

Ugh... why does it take so long to upload the Stream Recording

Depends. We've been seeing the VODs attempting to stitch the two streams together and this is what has taken a lot of time this week. In this instance, it started stitching the videos together but then apparently gave up and made them separate.

They tried to blueprint a fairytale-themed castle on stream but they could not save it because Blueprint currently only allows up to 500 objects (castle had 1k+). Hopefully they'll increase that in the future, but at least it's possible for now [up]

As Bo said in this thread https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/9236-500-Piece-Blueprint-limit/page2?p=85549#top

"While building you can use the multi-select tool and it will automatically show you how many pieces are in your building at that point. The limit has already increased since De-Lady-Signer played it yesterday but we are using the gamescom build on the screen. The team back home is working really hard and are making 'improvements', adding new features, and pushing the limits every day - it goes faster than you can imagine. You will have a more accurate number closer to release date "
