I like the idea of adding a "like" button similar to Facebook, but i don't think there should be a dislike or rating system to the posts.
People on RCTW forums simply rate your posts negatively just because they don't agree with you or because they disagreed with you previously and rate all your future posts negatively because they are salty lmao
I'm personally against anything dislike/negative for a thread/post rating. Allows for mob mentalities and other negative effects to a community.
I've been a mod on a forum that went from nothing to likes/dislikes and within 2 weeks there was fighting and arguments going on. After removing the like/dislikes the pain was still there for some posters and the vibrant fun community never returned. It's now gone from >150 regular users to <10.
On the flip side another forum added a simple +1 button with users not knowing their scores, just a count on individual posts and nothing changed.
My personal opinion is just to add a +1 / thanks kind of button, and as you said, steer well clear of any ability to post negativity with a single click.

Used Chrome inline-editor to make a little text demo...
So something like this would be of use?

I voted no.
Because people will start posting things to get as many likes as they can just like I saw on other forums. I think that right now people share things that maybe are not as good as they think but they want to get feedback.Any reasoning for the no vote?
