Post-Thargoid Recovery missions bugged?

Hey.

I just got back after a long hiatus. Thought it might be fun to do some Post-Thargoid Recovery missions.
Did a simple one to start with. Turn on power at Burn Landin (using a supplied power regulator).

I get to the station. Mission updates to "You have arrived at Burn Landin."
But the station is already powered and fully manned. I do have clearance level 3 so I just walk into the power plant but the guy there pulls a gun and the whole base attacks.

I try relogging to solo mode but its the same thing.

So I have to abandon the mission and try again? Whats going on =)

Thanks!

Known issue - see

One theory for what's happening is that in Post-Thargoid Recovery it only takes one player doing the recovery mission to reactivate the base (which sounds more sensible than it needing to be powered up 40 times by the same or different players before it sticks) but for some reason this doesn't stop missions being generated there later.

I think by now every recovery system station has been powered up, so try again on Thursday, perhaps?

I posed the question about how does the post-Thargoid settlement restart mission game-loop works here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...-restore-settlement-power-up-missions.614038/

Hasn't got any response yet (would like FDev to give a definitive answer though) :(

It's definitely more than one, if you look at a mission board there are many repeat instances of missions to restart the same settlement (with or without provided regulators).

What would be useful is if the target has already been met after you've picked up the mission, but before you've activated it, then everyone with a mission for that settlement should get a mission update via the comms (like when they update missions for delivery times or incoming enemies), maybe giving you some compensation (like keeping the power regulator or some small financial reward) and changing the mission status to complete.

As it stands you can pick-up one of these missions and if someone happens to trigger the magic number of restarts required to make the base active before you get there this problem is the result.

It looks like the missions game loop has just been copied from the normal restore missions without much thought to how it will work within the context of the Thargoid recovery (the normal game loop is tied to faction or system status I think and these missions only spawn in certain conditions and stay active on the mission boards as long as these conditions last), now there's a number of restarts as an additional trigger they don't seem to have included the necessary steps to deal with the situation of a settlement being on-line and functioning while commanders can still pick-up the restart missions or already have them picked up.

Thanks for the responses. Seems not much have changed in the time I've been away and fdev is still doing their old QA. I had hoped it was cleaned up a bit but I guess not.

Another year of hiatus it is!
