I came out of FS so close to a star that I actually few right though it and out the other side. Happened in mear seconds but it scared the crap out of me.
Another time I was drinking a beer and decided to put it down on my Cobra's dashboard. Heard the glass hit the floor and the wife shouting at me. Felt like a right fool

For me it was the first time I experienced low altitude flying, FA off in a DBS.
As I was gazing at the floor to the side of me, I hit boost and the vertical thrusters and watched the ground rapidly fall away from me. I felt vertigo. It was awesome!

Beeing inside the ship for the first time was unbelieveable. Still get that amazement somewhat after 18months of flying in DK2..
Most awesome experience i had was the first time standing in the cockpit of my cobra while undocking. I was totaly amazed how this changed the feel of flight, i looked around, marveled at the station while accelerating to the exit slot and as i looked straight ahead I crashed into the type9 just entering the station, i almost tipped over from shock, this was a "VR is nuts" moment

Hearing the laughing from my wife as she came home to find me in the pitch black with all the curtains open, underlit by my HOTAS LEDs. Nerd status confirmed. For ever.
Worst moment so far - Very early MinecRift. 60fps and a mouse look that spins your head around. Blurrggg. The only real nausea I've suffered.
Best moment so far - Going through the tutorial of Half Life 2 in VR and being told to stack boxes by the window and jump out. Stuck my head out of the window and genuinely freaked the eff out. Proper vertigo.
But ED in the rift is amazing. And now so is Project Cars. And Luckys Tale. And Subnuatica. And Appolo 11. And VRDesktop. And everything else that's coming.
It's a game changer.
PS - Anyone else notice the LCD monitor lying broken on the floor of the SteamVR introduction? Nail on the head I think.
Makes you realize that looking at moving 2D pictures of something is a bit weird.

Awesome moment - Booting up ED with 1.3, ultra eveyrthing.......landed on a planet with no shuttering and noticed dust motes for the first time in the Rift.
...........went off and ordered a CV1 15 minutes later !!

Most nauseating. Trying to plot a 1000 ly route in the Elite galaxy map [where is it] [ugh]
Best. Trying out Syder Arcade Space Walk asset demo for the first time. First app that worked properly in the Rift for me. Wow, not allot of action but it sure felt like was in space, and the scale was magnificent.
