Potential for: coast line

Hey y’all
Today I wanted to discuss potential for animals that we could use more of. Animals that are ocean dwelling but need land. I am hoping PZ will add diving mechanics for animals and better underwater viewing for guests. I’ve noted that the hippopotamus do go under water, but animals such as gharials and polar bears stat at the surface. I am looking for suggestions that cover the planet
I pick Steller sea lions over California because certain populations are struggling after Valdez oil spill and many other theories (I work in Alaska and there are many projects aimed at determing their declining numbers)
Sea otters believe it or not really don’t need to ever touch land, but usually do in captivity. Plus guests would be thrilled to see a “cute sea otter” despite the fact that they are actually monstersAlso as they are a keystone species and their numbers have had a struggle rebounding.
I will leave seal choices to y’all as I think a basic harbor seal is too basic and there are more interesting seals such as ribbon seals, leopard seals, walrus and hooded seals that may help with conservation credits.
I think emperor penguins stand out as the most appealing, but if penguins from other continents can be added I’m all for it
Suggest away just remember this is for animals that are primary swimming in saltwater but need to haul out.

I'd love to see them in it, but I think it'll be a while before we get seals or more animals with a majorly aquatic part of their life beyond "reskins" of existing things.

The hippo doesn't technically go "under water", it sinks to the bottom of the pool and walks along the terrain. That's the only reason it works - traversible area can only be calculated for a 2D surface, not a 3D space (at the moment), which I believe is the biggest hindrance to adding any kind of underwater navigation to the animals in the game.

That said, at this point I wouldn't object to penguins and otters at least being included even if they do only swim on the surface of the water. Both can thrive in habitats with fairly shallow water so it isn't inconceivable, depending on the species, to have it this way.

I think penguins are the most likely as they probably spend much less time in the water than on land, I see them more terrestrial than aquatic. Seals, Seal lions and Walruses I hope will come eventually, they do spend more time in the water than penguins but if it just ended up being floating animations for these like we have in the game now, I would be alright with that. Though of course, swimming would be better
