Potential Highlands Animal Pack in Winter 2023?

I fully support the idea of a Scotland themed pack :D But yeah we are not the best at naming these pack ideas at all, generic names that mislead the pack idea is a common occurance even though highlands can work in a sense as other regions of the world are known as highlands. Scotland itself has very few ties to true highland animals with mostly only birds qualifying such as the White-tailed ptarmigan or golden eagle, or maybe the mountain hare.

A mountain hare is probably not on the highest agenda for highland wishlists as we commonly see preference to the andean, ethopian or himalayan highland regions rather than a temperate pack in disguise.

I edited my post a bit, and funnily I actually added a personal wishlist and the mountain hare is in there 😂😂. I wouldnt mind building pieces based on Scottish castles. I know we have twilight but they are not the same.

I have a bit of social media and marketing experience in my history, and a very successful sales track record before I quit to do wildlife photography, I try and think about what Frontiers largest profit base would go for in terms of high sales, and what makes sense to the most people. We are a loyal hardcore fans for the game and we also have interest in zoos and animals by a far larger amount than most who pick the game up, but we are not Frontiers largest sales demographic. It's nice that they pay us attention tho.

1: Markhor
2: Golden takin
3: Spectacled bear
4: Pallas cat
5: Gelada

6: Wolverine
7: Darwin rhea
8: Japanese giant salamander(E)

Not all animals I would like, but this is just my assumption. Markhor, Takin, Wolverine and Gelada are animals I would really like. Personally not really care about a rock hyrax or Pallas cat, but that's just my personal opinion. For exhibit I couldn't think any other than a giant salamander.
Updated my list, how could I forgot to add the Darwin Rhea!

All those months spent on expecting and what those who expect highland ones (and me who expect what I hope for) wasn't accepted (yet). Not much of a point to spent many months of hoping for what wanted for that game. Sigh

there isn't really a Highland animal with a unique animation rig so it will be interesting how they play it in the next pack. Maybe a walkthrough exhibit is where they will spend the resources. The same was true of the oceania pack too so they chose to spend the time updating the orangutan animation.

Well I can see the Wolverine adopting a unique rig

This animal pack have potential to have almost all big star animals. Animals which are highly requested from fans and are high on meta whish list which Frontier obviously keeping eye on.
First of all I didn't know that tree kangaroos could b taken as mountain animals untill now. Also can't believe that almost no one didn't put golden snub nosed monkey in the list. xD

-Gelada
-Wolverine
-Sichuan Takin
-Markhor
-Spectacled Bear
-Golden Snub-nosed Monkey
-Tree Kangaroo (Goodfellow's or Matschie's)
-Japanese Giant Salamander

Now this is my wishlist more then what I expect we will get. Frontier most likely will be keen on diversity so probably one none/rarely flying bird, one small creature like marmot e.g. and of course one felinae (pallas cat) are more likely to hoop into the pack.

Im sure though that wolverine, baboon, takin and spectacled bear are very very likely to make the cut. It would be amazing pack that is for sure with a lot of big star animals in it.

  1. Klipspringer

  3. Bighorn sheep
  4. Himalayan monal
  5. Blue crane
  6. Serval
  7. Himalayan musk deer
  8. Alpine salamander (exhibit)
