Poweplay - confused - Combat missions? Help me!

Hi.

I must be missing something obvious, and could use some guidence.
As a combat pilot, I wanted to align myself with an imperial power with a focus on combat. In the end I chose

Arissa Lavigny-Duval (Empire) <Ethos: Preparation/Social, Expansion/Combat, Control/Combat>

ALD has two of her methods as combat.

Yet I cannot seem to find any missions to support her that I can perform in a combat fitted vulture with no cargo space.

Her missions are...

Preparation - deliver supplies. (Expected... Based on her ethos)
Expansion - none available. (Because there are no expansion systems?)
Control - deliver supplies (what has this got to do with her combat control ethos?)
Disrupting opponents - steal cargo from enemies (can't... Don't have cargo space)

Am I really going to be forced to change to a less combat focused ship and deliver supplies if I want to support my combat focused power? I don't get it... Am I missing something?

You can at least undermine winters by killing her ships in her control systems.

And

Expansion seems available now for her? three system? Those are also combat but you only get 1 merit per kill even if it is an anaconda.

Killing Winters Federation ships give you 15 merits per kill even if it only a hauler.

You need a strong stomach killing poor couriers whilst they beg for mercy telling you they have a wife and children :p

I checked undermining... It wanted me to steal cargo from ships I don't think it was winters though. Are ALD's undermining missions different for each of her opponents?

I have no convictions about murdering innocent civilians... As long as it furthers the cause of ALD.

The undermining missions are specific to each power.

But, I know going to Winters control systems and killing Federal Courier ships work well.

All who bask in Imperial glory should attack winters. :p

I must admit I was excited for the powerplay update but as a combat player I am disappointed to find the combat ethos has little to do with combat and instead mainly consists of taking cargo from one place to another. I stopped playing because bounting hunting provides diminishing returns as you get larger ships. I was hoping this update would give me something to do related to combat but it seems like trading is still the only option to make decent amount of money or partake in the powerplay mechanics.

See you after the next update.

This, This is very disappointing.

I joined the above faction because it looked like I would be doing combat missions for Expansion and Control

Very sad to see it's just trade missions.

How can I support Arissa Lavingy-Duval by shooting things? I kind of get going to a Winter's controlled system and annoying the Feds, but what's the 15 merits per kill and how do they translate into good stuff for ALD?

I want to help my power gain the CC needed to stay afloat - does that work by killing winter ships or ONLY through the trade "combat" missions?

And Why Winter ships? Why not any other Federation power? Or Will any other Federation Power gain me brownie points?

The whole thing needs to be a lot clearer I think.

I think the way undermining works is that you go to one of your enemies controlled systems and you kill any ship running their 'flag'. So as you scan them it will show up "Winters" or "Hudson." Etc. If you pull them out of surpercruise in a system they actually control then you fight them. If you kill them you get 15 credits.

I could be wrong on this, but it's certainly the way it works for Delaine. We, of course, have lots of fun that way.

Thank you :) I have something combatish to do now. When I joined the Empire I was hoping for opportunities such as this. They should make it so that any nabbed cargo acquired in such activities is not tagged as "stolen" in your home power space.
