Power Care Packages QoL

Pretty please put these into one stash instead of spacing them out over individual Care Packages - I now have a scrollable list with five whole pages of them and the list keeps jumping around/ the scroll position gets reset each time I interact with them, making it near impossible to keep track of which Care Package I tried to pick up

That's one of the worst parts of the current implementation of that list. It doesn't necessarily retain its previous ordering after you have partially taken stuff from one. This makes it annoying to try to take what you can and leave the rest. There's also no way of distinguishing between them in the list.

As you suggest, maybe once you have collected the contents of such a package, if there are leftovers they could be moved to one single combined "mega" package.

Yeah, exactly - that would solve the situation neatly :)

How about there being a maximum number of packages you can store and when you reach that number the next package kicks the oldest one out. A variation on having the packages have a shelf life but without the penalty of losing them if you don’t play.

Please, not this. I like using my stuff efficiently. Let us at least return them for a portion of merits.

How is that helpful to ... anyone? That is the opposite of helpful

I don’t want to lose any of the rewards I earned. I’m unable to retrieve them because of the current bug that causes the game to crash when trying to retrieve them. FD should fix their bug in a way that doesn’t cause players to lose earned rewards.

It eliminates the problem of having more packages than the system can deal with. Eliminating the problem of stuck and inaccessible packages is surely a little helpful.

I never actually claimed it was helpful just that it was a better idea than my earlier one of care packages having a lifespan.

yeah this is actually untenable the way its currently implemented.

I think one of two ways would work. The first is a "collect all", but I do think seeing the new care packages and going through the list after a good session is fun. the second combines leftover materials from partially used care packages into a single one. then as you go through the game you periodically just collect from that package.

we also need bigger goods/assets storage on carriers with how much stuff you can get from these care packages. i'm not looking forward to the absolute slog of sorting and trading/selling.

I think we could stand to have more material traders around? I've gone through my inventories, seen what is almost full, then traded them into other things just to open up space for care package loot. I've also started synthesizing more, and I'm running off to stock up on a ton of Sirius Heatsinks to replace all the stock ones.

That's another option, open up some of those CG rewards as tech broker modules, now people have another thing to throw materials at. (Another reason to support the on-food interior ship repairs with Odyssey components... even just giving the option to feed those components into the synthesizer for AFMU refill could be neat)
