Power Distributor Working When Off?

I'm not sure if this was an intentional change or a bug but when I turn my power distributor module off my weapons/engines/systems still charge. The only impact is that I can't adjust the distribution.

I'm sure in earlier versions of the game if it was off and you used boost them the engine power wouldn't recharge until you turned the distributor back on.

Is this a bug?

Yeah, if the power distributor is disabled you can't change the power pips around. This might not seem like such a bad thing at first until you need to reallocate power, then it becomes critical pretty quickly if you're still in combat. :)

Yes but surely if its off it shouldn't carry on distributing power? That's like saying if you turned off the frame shift drive while in supercruise then you can carry on flying around you just don't have the ability to drop out.

the word you should zero in on is ....... adjust






as in 1 - 4 pips... in the off position sys/eng/wep will just charge at the default rate

Your stuff still gets power from the power supply, turning off the distributor will just prevent you from allocating power to shields / weapons / engines, and you will lose the recharge bonus that the distributor provides.

I agree with you. Any power system that I have worked on. If the power distribution goes U/S the prime mover cuts out to prevent it exploding.

Right, in addition to being able to focus power in certain areas at a time, I expect the distributor is also a limiter that acts as a safeguard for the ship.
