Power management Clipper

for now trading and when I have more money, i will place a A6 Shield in it and when I want to do pvp I remove the cargo for SCB.

I have use multi cannons but I notice with this weapon setup it destroy the npc ships faster.
What I need to learn is power priority settings and how much pips in Sys, Eng, Wep is the best setup

Mine idea was to set 2 boosters and a weapon C3 & C2 on priority 5 so that when power goes down always still can fire

DItch 2 shield boosters, a get size 6 shield instead of 4. All those class A shield boosters are draining all your power.

Also swap medium beams for multicannons, and you will not have problems with power while firing, if you set 2 pips to systems and 4 to weapons..

If you loan it to me for a week or so, I'll be able to let you know. Looks ok, not over asking on the power front; tap those beams though and you'll keep things cool. Have fun, for a while, I would run it 2 pips to all and see how it fairs and then work from there. Just don't go taking on anything stupid for a week or so.

A clipper with no weapons, biggest A thrusters, biggest A power dist and biggest D powerplant and pretty much D class everything else can boost away from any combat ship even with almost full cargo. Doesn't matter if you submit to interdiction or not. Can outrun a combat Cobra or Clipper afaik. Almost full cargo. Full pips to engine. Others will need pips to weapons to attack you.

I didn't test my build, but you'd want to be sure it can boost. The rest depends on what kind of jump range you need.

...but my last post assumes the combat clipper or cobra that is chasing you is encumbered by shield cell banks, hull reinforcement etc which is necessary for going toe to toe in combat. Otherwise you're in trouble.

You don't put D powerplants on your ship, you put downsized A power plants on them.

Less weight, better heat efficiency.

And actually a combat cobra or combat clipper will be just as fast, because you're being weighed down by 240 tons of cargo and they are not. And you can't boost as much as they can when you have a D rated power distributor.

If you are going to equip a 6A shield, consider a 7D in its place.

It weighs 8 tons less, consume a lot less power, costs much much less... And for all of that, it's only 10 MJ less potent than the 6A.
