Power Management Panel: Please fix it as it was and group Shield Boosters also.

I find the new double-click tedious and pathetic in combat - "Are you sure you really want to switch on your next Shield Booster now that the first has been totally depleted and you are going to die very shortly? I hope you have enough insurance to cover your loss and manage to select this Shield Booster in time and have patience to wait and use evasive manoeuvres in due time for a last fight to live. It's been a pleasure flying with you until you got us into this mess. It's all your fault! I told you it was a Hazardous RES but did you listen? No! Good Luck then (omg we're going die)"...
.
Plus why are the Shield Booster always spreadout across the panel thus making management even more trickier? It makes the idea of a Management Panel in 3302 a complete joke! FIX PLEASE

As a PVE I find I need SCB as security but switched OFF of course to allow the usual modules powered. It's then got this delay to power up in an emergency situation in which by that time it's useless as my Shields have dropped! A useless idea for PVE but is there to slow down the PVP whom will have it powered up always!

I've noticed this too.
For us gamepad users its annoying. Lol
Never been life threatening though, cos if I'm in that much trouble I'm more fussed about jumping out. Lol

This isn't really an issue for me...I keep a few SCB banks on hand, with 1 active at a time. Whenever I have the area around myself cleared out, I'll disengage, check my SCB status, and activate based on need (ie, if I still have enough charges I'll wait & activate after the next fight). I never try juggling them in combat...if I end up running dry, its time to pull a Brave Sir Robin anyways :p

I presume you really mean Shield Cell Boosters (SCB) when you say Shield Boosters? Shield Boosters don't need any clicking at all.

If you don't like the double click, don't put it in the same fire group! Problem solved!

They are spread out across the panel, because that's the fire groups you've put them in!

It's nothing to do with firegroups Quasar but is the position you added them on your ship. They do not need one. They need switching as I go overpower in combat and I need to manage them on/off at times. Boosters and SCB all need 2 clicks as to confirm you really want to switch anything ON. That's what a wife is for and have no need for such confirmations. I do things based upon my decision rather than anything upon impulse. It's annoying.

Shield Cell Banks are not spread about "in the order in which they were added" - the modules list is sorted according to power drain. 5A SCBs are listed together whereas (say) 4B SCBs appear further down the list because they have less power drain.

However I totally agree with you about the delay in module selection by inserting the useless "second click" - although I can understand why they put in the time delay in a module coming online / powering up but that is a different issue.

Yes I do find it somewhat annoying to have to go through the extra menu steps. Worse is having to scroll down if you want to repair. If you're fuel scooping while charging frameshift drive you may want to set your cargo hatch to be repaired so it doesn't start leaking. That needs to be done on every jump and now takes three button presses.

I suspect that the change isn't specifically to make power management harder. After all a double click doesn't take much longer to execute once you're used to having to do it; the first time you're sitting there wondering why nothing happened, sure. Preventing accidents may be the intention. More clicks give you more opportunities to notice you selected thrusters by mistake...

That doesn't mean that I like the change. Not at all.

The slight delay - fine, whatever. But the double-click is fracking .

It took 1 click for the past year, now it pops up a window and you get to click again... honestly, WHAT reason was the menu/screen modified for? Was there a problem with joysticks, or xbox, or VR helmets... or some other reason that makes sense?

Yup the pop-up confirmation box kills Emersion. Rid that along with disappearing POI below 1.5km on ground radar.

It's probably the silliest change I've seen in a patch ever. It's not like selecting a module can do anything other than turn it on or off, so why the extra menu interaction?

Oh noes, you have to click spacebar twice instead of once. I've had 0 issues with this change. Suck it up buttercup.

Yeah because insulting people is clearly a valid response to someone pointing out that a change is unnecessary because it serves no purpose, regardless of whether you find it easier, harder or no different. Go play with your lego, let the grown ups talk in peace. Buttercup.

I agree with the OP. Seems that the only reason for adding an extra step is just to make things more tedious. I would expect computers in the 22nd century to be better than those from the 20th, but it seems that game developers have zero imagination when it comes to improving on Windows 98. Shame!

Fit an AFMU and discover it is not a pop up confirmation

You could use an AFMU prior to this change. Besides, now it’s a PITA to keep track of what was repaired and has to be enabled again. It was much handier prior to 1.5/2.0.

If some of us have something to say on these matters and the only few simply put up with it then WHY is it like this? If only for different controllers then why must we all get the same crap just like the so call Optimization nonsense making the PC asteroids pathetic just to play on not all PCs and use the Graphics Settings to optimize but is for the damned XBOX!
We are NOT a totalitarian society so what are FD thinking of in our high tech world we have now???
FIX PLEASE

That is what a wife is for? What does that mean? Kinda sounds Like your Living in the middle ages.
You just lost any credibility man.

Firstly, who would have thought a model 101, T-800 series, metal endoskeleton-cybernetic organism would have such a good grasp of satirical humour!?

Secondly, I agree..it's a pain!..but it's way down my list of priorities FD should be fixing!..394th at the mo!
