Power out

Everything work fine until I get into combat mode, then all power is gone and I can't move, level Counts down and the ship explodes. How can I avoid this, please help...

You have exceeded your power plant output, setting priorities in "modules" will (maybe) rectify this.

Power management. When you Deploy your weapons your power plant can not produce enough power for all of your modules. You can prioritize which modules stay active ans which power down when you deploy in the Modules screen, on the right side info panel. The lower the number you assign to a module, the higher it's priority.

Put your FSD, Cargo Scoop, and other non-combat modules in a lower priority setting, and your important modules won't shut down.

:D ohm.... why on earth would you wait for the ship to explode? Oh maaaan, early days. Don't pledge to a power just yet :) it'll get complicated.

Also, if shields just go down "on their own" while you're busy equipping, you have the same issue. (that's how you test it without getting out of the dock - as outfitting deploys your weapons)

Also, if you switch off the "firing deploys hardpoints" option, and bind deploy/retract hardpoints on a button, you can control this precisely. It's "U" on the keyboard by default. If you're playing on Xbone, you probably have run out of buttons already, and I can't help you.

I had not noticed that, I always just look at the power figures. Thanks for that info, I'll keep it in mind. Very helpful

As everyone has already noted, your having issues with power management. This game had lots of realistic mechanics. You should take some time to do research to save yourself credits and headaches. There's a reason lots of people here emphasize "immersion".
