Just got a python. It came with standard 20 mw powerplant i was going to but a 6 b 23 mw power plant, old fron selling ship. Game warned of reduxed cap I do not understand , a 7 d power plant with 20 mw is better then a 6 b with 23 mw?.. if so please explain why thanks

If you drop a class (7 to 6 to 5) the game warns you as a lower class FSD will drop the jump range massively, with powerplants as long as there's enough power to run everything it's not an issue in fact "dropping" from a 7D to a 6A or 5A will make for a cooler running ship.

You can put an amazingly optimised 1.0L engine in a car but it still won't perform as well as an poorly optimised 3.0L engine.

i have been looking for 3 or 4 nights now for a 5A power plant. any idea where i can get one for my vulture? can i put a 5A in it? Coriolis dosn't show it can. if not. im going back to my diamondback until i have the $$ for something better. thanks
The Vulture can only fit a class 4 power plant nothing larger I'm afraid, with the Engineers update we'll probably be able to get more power out of a 4A plant but with some costs attached I suspect
If you like the Vulture the FAS has similar flight dynamics, better firepower and a much better power system but it's a lot more expensive, try out the Asp Scout (3.5 mil) it's really agile (not that fast though) but it's got a decent power plant and power distributor.
