Power Play 2.0 - Question about Kaine

So I’m trying (like many others) to figure it who to pledge to. In the old system i was pledged to Asling for RP purposes and the prismatic shields. Unfortunately now her bonuses don’t seem super great (you can constantly make profit looking for occupied escape pods?), although I may be wrong, and if I am, someone please explain why she’s got good bonuses.

That being said, most of my money is trading. Im not really a Mahon person but he does have the 25% trade bonus.

But what really caught my eye was Kaine’s 50% mining bonus. I haven’t done serious mining since the glory triple hot spot LTD / Panite days. Has anyone figured out if that bonus only counts towards what you actually mined? Or also to minerals that you can buy at stations?

The interesting possibility with Aisling (and Winters and Kaine also have search and rescue bonuses, though not as large) is probably with Titan rescues - an optimised ship can get hundreds of pods an hour, and they're one of the most expensive single commodities in the game, so tripling (or even doubling) the payout on those is very powerful if somewhat situational.

(On the other hand, who knows if Titan rescues will still be available by the time you've got up to a high enough rank to get the full bonus)

I'm not sure if anyone has got high enough rank with Kaine (or Torval) yet to confirm whether the bonus applies to mined goods only ... though it does seem likely!

They (FDEV) havent explained the mining PRECISELY yet - thats disappointing. The new Kaine server that's coagulating seems to know/have shared a few things but still general confusion over merits gain/cc and mining.

Huh…I knew that pods were being collected, I didn’t know there was profit involved. Now I’m wondering the same thing about if they will still be a thing since there is only one titan left. Assuming it is, what is a good build for that? A T8 crammed with collector limpets and a big cargo rack?

Ah ok so not just me then. Looking forward to some insight on that one.

Also, is the 25% on trading goods that Mahon offers just a flat 25% credit bonus on any commodity sold in his space?

I think most of the work by the people really going for bulk collections has used Cutters, for the extra capacity and survivability, as well as having more space for the "rescue missiles" used to get the pods out of the Titan in the first place. A T-8 is probably usable if you want something smaller and cheaper, though.

Curious if anyone has gotten high enough with Kaine to confirm if the 50%mining bonus only applies to what we actually mine or not…

You'll almost certainly be required to mine the resources yourself, as is the case for mining related missions and CGs.

It's a late bonus, but there are certainly some people with high enough rank, looking at last week's top 10 (rank 55 gets you +10% which would be enough for a test)

I don't know if any of them have tried yet.

Yes I have tried and no it did not work, not even for mined goods.
I received merits for the sale, but no bonus on price, profit or balance change.
There even is a "bonus" message in the market, but no actual bonus.

Test results:
1) I get the bonus for "meritable" mined goods, goods that I mined and that yielded a lot of merits when selling. Bonus is granted in the form of a voucher that can be handed in to an administrative contact.
2) I also get the bonus for meritable trades with mineable goods, meaning trading with a profit > 40%, bought from a Nakato Kaine station, delivered and sold to a Nakato Kaine station under a not so full moon on a Tuesday after sunset. Tested with Bauxite.
3) I also get the bonus for non-meritable trades with mineable goods where the condition of a profit > 40 % is not met, but the other conditions stay the same. Tested with Gold.
4) I also get the bonus for non-meritable trades with mineable goods where the condition of a profit > 40 % is not met and the source station is not controlled by Nakato Kaine. Tested with Gold.

Based on these tests, Bonus seemed to apply to all profitable sales of mineable goods in stations controlled by Nakato Kaine.
Bonus applies to profit, not sell price.
According to message in the market, bonus seems to apply to all goods of category Metals and Minerals, even Gallium and Indium.
