Power Play bounties

Just started back after a long break.
Joined a power. Playing solo for now (still trying to remember how to fly and setting key binds). I am getting attacked by elite NPC frequently. I assume its because I have bounties on my head from 4 different powers (from PP1). Currently just need to do escape pods to finish the weekly mission to qualify with the power. Is it possible for me to remove the bounties? I got killed once in my taxi (hauler). It seems NPC's killing me does not remove the bounty. Should I just park a cheap ship in enemy territory in open and hope a player kills me? I dont mind being attacked but it sucks when not in combat ship.

You could look for something called an interstellar Factor (in a system where none of the factions or super power issuing it is present). If you have no notoriety you can just pay it off. Bounties and fines can be seen in the righthand panel.

Being pledged to a power in PP2.0 makes you kill on sight for all the other powers no bounties or fines requried. If you are not in friendly space expect them to constantly try to kill you. If you are in friendly space then it's not that and you should do as above suggest and check an interstellar factor.

I wish that enemy power ships would try to kill me, not sure I've ever been outright attacked even deep into enemy territory.
They get spawned into basically every instance when you drop out of supercruise so if you're not getting attacked you're likely not doing much other than visiting stations where they rarely scan anyone.

Yes I know, but I was talking about getting interdicted or attacked by power ships in normal space. Doesn't seem to happen to me, and I have to attack the other power ships to get some pew pews going, they never attack me (or if so extremely seldom). Don't think I've ever been interdicted by an enemy power ship either..

Do you actually do PP, as my experience is so different to yours?

I was forced to abandon PP due to the constant interruptions to my non powerplay activities. They never interdict anymore, they are still in all instances. I think the issue is that there's almost no powerplay reason to be in those instances. I've been out of the bubble for a few weeks and off the fringes for a few before that but they were still spawning into every single instance if I left supercruise outside of a station even if I hit the exclusion zone around a star. It's just less of an issue when I'm not pledged though I still hate their omnipresence in places they've got no reason to be.

Cool, I'll try that. The only time that happens to me is when I go to power POIs. Any special place i should wait for them to attack?

Thanks for the answers everybody. I took hours to get the 11 escape pods I needed for power play qualification but we got there. Only lost my Cobra once although nearly died twice more. I was attack very time I dropped in on the siganl and twice whilst I was scanning for signals. The time I got destroyed I just sent my limpet out to collect a pod when 3 ships appeard out of know where and opened fire. The first hit took more than half my shields. I was destroyed before i could get my cargo hatch to close. LOL, it was my fastest death ever. Anyway I have since paid off the bounties and its calmed down quite a bit. I can actually travel to do missions without getting ganked by elite npcs every time.

My routine to clear Escape Pod/Black Box/etc. tasks is, when the mission allows, do it in a system aligned to my own power, scan the Nav Beacon, and prioritize the wreckage signals aligned with my own power. These will still spawn friendly ships aligned to your power, which will actively try to scoop up the cargo, so you want to hop in there and drop a couple collector limpets as quickly as possible.

If no own-faction wreckage sites are available or the mission structure doesn't allow it and you must instead visit the wreckage signals of other powers, I find if you're not prepared for a fight (and I'm generally not outside of a dedicated combat ship), you might still get lucky and not have any enemy ships spwan in for a minute or two, in which case you can limpet. If that's not the case, I find it's better to skip the limpets, use my cargo scoop to grab the first mission item I see, and bounce before the other ships deploy hardpoints.

Thanks for the reply Angel. How do you tell if a wreckage signal is aligned with your power? I was in my own powers system because that was the requirement for the weekly.

In the FSS once you zoom in on a signal it should tell you in the (upper-right?) corner which faction the signal originates from. For Power Wreckage signatures, it should always be a major powerplay faction--either your own, somebody else's, or a conflict between two.

Thanks, I never noticed it.
