Power Play factions should lease you OP weapons.

Feel free to leave a suggestion on what each Galactic Power should have as a lease weapon.

Ok, I know we currently have powerplay modules. Some are awesome, many are meh. However they all have a niche use that when used properly make them great.

One idea to make players value powerplay allegiance and actually be loyal is to have a single, specific weapon or module for each power that is significantly stronger, somewhere around 20% more dps or defense than an engineered variant for example. That cannot be taken when you defect.

Before you jump up and say LOL u dumb bro, hear me out. EVERY power will have their own separate "power weapon" that cannot be kept if you leave. This means that every faction will be able to have this ability.

Some examples.

Li Yong Rui- maintain packhound missiles to keep, high speed nuclear missiles to lease (size 3 missile rack, 32 ammo, single missile launch, each dealing 120 damage)
Aisling Duval - maintain prismatics, offer super low heat shield cell banks (size 1a-8a SCB with 1/4 the heat normally generated when using and one extra ammo)
Zachary Hudsen - maintain pacifier , offer a neutralizer plasma (same as a pacifier but plasma, ability the riggidy wreck up close, but shoots hot marshmallows at 1k)

These are just ideas really.

The whole point is that each Galactic Power should offer something that the others dont that you cannot take with you if you defect. This would add value to being a part of them

Sit in a space station for 4 weeks per module, spend a few million credits and get ALL of the power play modules. With no major changes coming for at least a year, now is the time. o7

Yea. Because Zemina Torval will have so many more people following her, if that's the only way to get a mining lance with 20% more damage...

Without sarcasm: PP weapons are deeply flawed. Some are frequently used, some are above and beyond similar regular equpment and some are beyond repair and won't ever be worth using. Even if you double their damage. The given suggestion will do nothing else but turn PP into yet another meta-game. It will boost those powers which have good weapons, while killing off those who don't.

Is this reduction of options really what you want? You really think that this would improve the game? I don't. I rather accept that PP hopping is a thing that happens. It's the only thing which prevents PPs from being in even worse state and even more of a trainwreck than it is now. This suggestion would only create new problems, without fixing anything.

Powerplay modules need to go to the tech broker.

The way to ensure player retention in Powerplay imho is to fix the mechanics then replace merit decay with a time & achievement based paramilitary ranking & reward system; being a Power auxiliary should be about the galactic politics and advancement of a commander's personal story.

Power play needs to offer something more to keep players coming to the faction not less, plus a defector isnt gonna care if you want your tech back, they are going to keep it.
And the tech isnt going to magically disappear just because they defected or otherwise be locked out from use.
Plus its easy to find a security chip and remove it should anyone try to play that card.
