Powerplay Power Play Military Strikes

Hello,

I'm unclear on what it is that I can do to support my Power faction in the system I'm in. I am working for Patraeus, and it says that I can turn in combat victories against Military Strikes (or something similar to this).

The system I'm in doesn't appear to have conflict zones, so I don't think that's what it is referring to. I have taken out a few pirates, but that doesn't seem to please the General.

What is it I'm supposed to defeat to affect this?

You can have lots of fun doing powerplay on your own, but you can also do more damage than good by some actions.
If you are serious about it, I'd recommend getting in touch with your Power's community and coordinate with them. They will also have answers to all your questions.

You're expected to move to a system where you can perform Powerplay actions. If your current system isn't a Control system, Expansion target or a Preparation taget you can't earn any Powerplay merits there.

There are several Military Strikes in Beta Hydri (permit required) currently.

How do I hand in the claims, I got 60 points for helping to kill 6 ships in a military strike but I cant see how to hand them in at any of the contacts including the power contact?

You must be in a control system of your own Power to hand in the merits, not in the system with the Military Strike.

In your galaxy map, with the powerplay filter on & Patreus selected, make sure the box for "control" is checked. That will show you which systems are your factions "control systems". You need to turn powerplay merits in to one of those.
