Power Play Question from a noob

Though I'm not really a noob to ED, I am to power play.

I'm at Cubeo, sitting in a conda that can haul 336 tons per trip to ???
I just pleaged to that cute little girl cause for the first time, I'm interested in the shield generator's she has to offer.
Today is saturday.
I hauled my first load and apparently got 336 merits
how many more saturdays do I have to do that, so I'm able to get those cool generator's.
Someone told me that I'd loose half my merits every week.
Thus I trying to figure out how much each week, I need to do to make her happy.
I'd really hate to invest the time and money and be one ton short.

one.
But not this one if you just pledged.
during the 3rd week you need to get 750 merits
Then in the 4th week (after the Thursday when the cycle is started) you can buy the Prismatics, but only in that week...
So this is the start of week one, after the start of week three and prior to that weeks thursday. I should make sure I've at least 750 merit's. And after the start of week for, having 750 the week prior, I can purchase the Prismatics; Right?

Another question if I may: Can I purchase as many and sizes as I can afford. Or do I have to do it once a month for serveral month's to get more? I've got 5 ships. And a lot of money I don't actually need.

That's right I think. I'll admit my memory is such that if it was me I'd leave it another week before doing the merits. But either way it's on the Thursday after you did the merits that the shields become available for a week.

You can buy as many as you like when they become available. People buy more class 5's than the others since they're a good fit for medium ships and also as a downsized generator for larger ships to maximise cargo space, while still being beefy. Have a think about what ships you'd like to have in your fleet, not just the ones you have right now, and what shield you'll want in them. To avoid having to do it again.

You can buy prismatics after being pledged for 4 weeks and at that time to be rank3.
To be rank 3 in the 4th week, you need to deliver 750 merits in the 3rd week (The PP week starts on Thursday)
Sure, you can keep the rank longer and to do so, you need to keep in mind that merits are tracked individually on a weekly basis and for 4 weeks duration.
So what you delivered in this week will be halved by next week and then again halved the next week
The merits you delivered next week will also be tracked separately and will halve and then halve and so on.

Anyway, you dont really need to delve too much into the math... Just take note of what merits you have left by after the Thursday tick and then deliver merits to have 750 by the next thursday if you want to keep the rank longer so yo have Prismatics available to purchasefor longer times

You can purchase how many you can afford/store
I would get one for sizes 1 and 2
Then 2 each for sizes 3-8

If you'd have a way bigger fleet (my case for example), i would advised you to get 2 more for size 3-5 and one extra for size 6 and 7

Size 3 Prismatics are very good for Krait mk2 and Python (traders, passenger ships, mining ships) - they get decent shielding with them while saving the biggest slots for cargo or other stuff
Size 4 for Conda, Clipper (in trading, mining or passenger builds), but also depending on build for Kraits or Python
Size 5 for dedicated combat ships like FDL and Mamba, but not only. Type 6 can use one too (mining or cargo)
Size 6 for Cutters (trading, mining)
Size 7 for Conda or Vette as heavily shielded combat ships
Size 8 for Cutter (sure you can waste one on a T10, but it will be a waste)

After several thosand of hours invested in playing, purchasing, flying variuos ships and getting them all at one time or another engineered.
Unless there is a new ship introduced, I've accepted the fact which has lead me to owning 3 conda's all loaded out for specific purpose of play. An Krait MkII, for pew pew, and I've retired my python to Robigo out fitted to do two jumps each way. And has been in dry dock now two years. Thus I only need four in slightly various sizes.

However, having more cr's then I can ever spend. I'll take the advice to buy the amount you suggest.
Though one can dream, perhaps someday, a new ship will come along.
The last sentence is aimed at the big D aka Dave B.
