Powerplay power play question

I pledged for the bubble gum girl and recently unlocked the prismatic shields. Problem is I thought they would be permanently unlocked which apparently isnt the case. Im in a vulture but wanted to rank up Fed to get a fas. Can I still be pledged to the bubble gum girl (so i dont lose the option for the shields) and rank up fed so I can get the fas?

You can but life in supercruise might be rough - loads of interdictions etc. PP does not impact bulletin board or the way a minor faction sees you. FAS is a great ship, worth the donation tedium.
