Power Redirection

Hello,

I think it would be very useful if in addition to diverting power to a system, you could also divert power away from a system. For instance, instead of diverting power to my engines, I could divert power away from my engines and it would be automatically divided between my systems and my weapons. Diverting power away from systems would redirect it to engines and weapons. Diverting power away from weapons would redirect it to engines and systems.

If I recall correctly, Lucasarts X-Wing series had this feature.

I recently started playing with macro's for my joystick so now I have 3 very quick pre-set options, one for full pips on the shields and 2 on the engines (useful for getting into stations when under fire), one for full pips on the engines and 2 on the shields (useful for running away) and one for combat which I have set to 3.5 pips on weapons, 1.5 on the shields and 1 pip on the engines.

This seems like a glass half empty vs half full point of view issue. When there are 2 pips in each system it is "normal" power, when you lower from two to add to another you are diverting power away from the module. Pressing down equalizes power to all systems again by going back to two pips. A system with no pips has minimum allowable power, you can't take any more away without shutting it down.

Not clear on why you'd need a new way to do what you can already do. Want less power to ENG, then put some in the other two, and it will take one pip out of ENG. The way they've got it set up provides a lot of different combinations in a few keys.

I have to agree with Major Lag and Rhaedas - the system is already set up for what you are asking Meyrink. Diverting power away from a system is simply a matter of adding power to another system - the X-wing series had it as did the Independence War series :D
