Power regulator cannot be grabbed/taken!

I had a power regulator from a previous mission, stolen, a long time ago. And now I took a mission to clear out a settlement of scavengers. I figured I could turn the power on and shoot the scavengers in comfort from inside the power centre with power chargeport in there... and loot the place and then before leaving get the power regulator back and leave.

But then I could not take it after use..... No E to take it but the rest of the text there...

Didja turn power back off from the console? Takes 3 minutes to shut down. Then you can remove the regulator.

So I have found several wrecked SRV's on settlements and remembering the tutorial I carefully crawled under a couple of them and using the cutter (while unobserved) cut open the access panel and removed the power regulator!! Except, when I checked my inventory later I see that it's not there. Anyone else experience this?

Did you look for a "Degraded Power Regulator"? Cuz that's what you usually get. It's rare to get a good one.

There was a forum user recently that thought they had a couple or PRs vanish on them when boarding the SRV.

Salvaged Power Regulator - contraband?

On a salvage mission to a Distress Beacon site, I opened up the two power regulator compartments on the derelict Eagle, one of which was Degraded but the other not (finally!). But the red contraband flag on the HUD came up, and both these salvage items were marked as contraband. Why would that...

Yes I just had this bug and your solution worked, cheers! (It's now more than a year after this thread was started and several updates later, but the bug is still there...

)

In my case I was lucky in that I had my SRV nearby so could board it, then disembark to solve the bug but if I'd gone to the settlement in an Apex taxi I wouldn't have been able to do that, as no SRV if the bug had cropped up. (Unless the bug only occurs if there IS your SRV - who knows?

)

if you use one to temp power a settlement and relog whilst in use or board srv\ship if I rem correctly it wont be recoverable the only other factor being as mentioned backpack space afaiaa
