Power Regulator grinding

If you need PRs and don't want to look for Restore/Repair missions to appropriate mission PRs you can find a mission to grab an item from a crash site with Distress Call type
where it spawns an Eagle with two cutable panels and two PRs. Disembark in your SRV nearby it will allow to see if there's any normal PR (or even two) with SRV radar w/o cutting a panel.
Then re-log and collect newly spawned regulators. Do not grab mission item from the box while you're doing it or the ship will not spawn again.
I've found that it spawns a normal regulator approximatly for every 5 re-logs.

My method was to sabotage any installations I took missions in when my notoriety was as low as 1-2, so I wouldn't be wanted everywhere. Two birds, as it were. By the time I had all the mats for an upgrade, I had enough PR's as well.

Alternatively, find a criminal-controlled installation (NOT just an Anarchy), raid, sabotage, rinse, repeat. Once again, mats and PR and no bounties in this case.

Yeah, this what I do as well wherever possible (mostly in anarchy settlements), but it looks like looting such Distress Call sites works faster though less fun.

And much less productive. If you raid and sabotage a settlement, you get mats too.

The best settlement to be looted missions are the "eliminate the criminal faction at ?????" mission type. When you have killed everyone, you get to loot and download data, as well as get the power regulator. If you leave survivors and then take the power regulator, log out, when you log back in the NPCs will have spawned again as will the power regulator. No mats or data though, just NPCs and a power regulator.

If you are lucky, the board will have generated a " eliminate XX members of ????? faction" which can be completed in tandem with the mission above.

Get Allied with Sirius Corporation, find one of their systems in Civil Unrest/Bust/etc., grab any Restore/Reactivation missions, abandon all of them, pay the fine, rinse & repeat. Keep going until if you have a crapton of power regulators and are Unfriendly with Sirius Corporation to satisfy the requirement for Uma Laszlo.

I go to Chon tourist base and just clear the site and take the regulator. It is an easy clear. Kill guard by land strip, then the guard by the power building. Cut your way in, and kill the one person. Clone him and shut off the alarms. Go to the one lone building up the hill and kill wandering guard. In the building. Just clear it. The room on the right the NPC is a level 3. Clone him. Clear the room, then go do the path into each room (usually one NPC at times 2), just go and clear. I start on the left then go down the right side. No need to clear the lounge building (it has 3 NPC's) but easy clear if you want to. Go to Power building and shut it down and 3 minujtes later you have a power regulator along with 150-200,000 credits and if you loot as you go a few million in goods. Launch go to super cruise and stop. Rince and repeat. I clear the long guard and drive to the power building cause I have to empty back packs a few times. Becker is also easy (same planet) but a bit trickier. Best of all this is an anarchy planet so no bounties or fear of fines etc....

Every single settlement (regardless of faction or affiliation) has an unlimited supply of power regulators, y'all need to step up your game and simply bask in all the bounties and notoriety.

I want to see after I got PR and SCd away the settlement turned into "evacuated/abandoned" and restore/repair mission is available for that station.

Well, it does happen to some extent. Repeatedly loot and murder a faction's settlement(s) and they'll go into Civil Unrest soon enough.

This is the way.

I'm wondering if sooner or later FDevs change it that you cannot pay for suit upgrades with illegally acquireв PRs (stolen from power plants or from abandoned repair/restore missions). So stolen PRs could be used only to power up settlements for data download missions or to sell on black market.

Doubtful, that would mean that many of the engineering materials could only be acquired as mission rewards. In fact, there was a period during one of the early releases where the Odyssey engineers would only accept legal materials, and it was quite unpopular (and acknowledged as a bug).

If FDev found this too cheesy and wanted to dial it back, the natural way to do it would be to make those missions give a larger -rep hit when abandoned, so you wouldn't be able to chain so many before needing to stop and rebuild rep or move on.

Good advice about using the SRV scanner. I gave up on opening these panels because normal regs spawned too rarely (like 1/10 by my estimate), but this makes it viable.

However, I've already collected my regs for two G5 suits the old-fashioned way, by massacring settlements and stealing their regs.

The "crashed eagle" is way faster than any other solution, I did-it myself : you will not get 2-4 PR in 5-10 min in ANY settlement looting/relog.

I can confirm - "distress beacon" with eagle there will do spawn an INTACT PR each 2-3 re-logs. Far faster than doing a mission or looting a settlement.
I harvested 12 in 25 min.
Do-it fast, until next update will "fix" this.
PS - sometimes you get one PP after each re-log, sometimes you need 4-5 re-logs.

Yeah. But "alternatively buying" them right at the stations is my favourite method. Too much deregulated PR's with the reload trick IMO.

I farmed the power regulators while farming opinion polls at mehta stop, it's effectively a power regulator in under a minute if starting the process before looting the base and you're fast enough to finish right as the power goes out. It's got a good layout where the reactor is on your way in and out if you park at the right spot. Also gets you PWR locker loot with little added overhead.

People are so desperate they go and relog 5 times to spawn one material? And FD wants to root the reloggings out. Lol.
