Power Regulators for Restore Power missions

Why do most of these missions expect us to provide our own Power Regulators?

Shouldn't they be grateful that we restore their bases at all? The least they could do is provide us a Power Regulator for each of them.

Having to farm Distress Beacons in order to do Restore Power missions is not quite right.

I'm currently in Holvandalla, doing power up missions. There where at least 5 missions which rewarding of like 4 to 5 Power Regulators for powering up a settlement. This way i got most of mine.

I got most of mine from Settlement Massacre missions or other missions that got messy, so I kind of accidently slaughtered everyone. Hey don't look at me like that, if everyone is dead they won't miss a power regulator. If the mission is a bust, sometimes it's a way to at least get something from it..
I am trying to redress the balance, as I did get some from failed missions. So if I have to supply my own, I use one of those. Occasionally there are some espionage missions on abandoned settlements that need you to temporarily power up the settlement and I don't always bother to retrieve them.

It's because so many Commanders steal those from missions which provide a PR and run away with them... now they are out of stock... ;)

I wonder why... 🤔

ROFL... that's a nice one... negotiate for 5-6 PR... :D
I always get only offered some useless stuff like Radioactivity Data and Reactor Output Review... which i have more than enough and won't exchange any of my (40 :D) PR....
You can't negotiate with the computer terminal. :ROFLMAO:

I don't think the mission givers ever give Power Restore missions. All their missions seem to be ilegal...

Okay... i was looking for hints if it's on terminal, but since i didn't saw one, i was so sure it's a NPC :D

Not 100% sure about the mission givers and restore, but i think they offer all missions that you can find also on the terminal. At least they offer also legal missions.

They do. But only the cheating I mean generous terminals in goid zones are offering multiple PRs as rewards for those missions.

These ones are also nice

I know that feeling. Speaking of the absurdly short mission timers for on-foot missions, has a reason for that ever been given?
I remember someone (not a dev) mentioned that the timer for on-foot missions is purposely made short in case some BGS state changes resulted in you not being able to complete the mission. For example, you took a mission to massacre a settlement and log off. When you log on again, the target faction is now under infrastructure failure, resulting in all their settlements abandoned so there's no one for you to massacre.

We have the opposite issue, getting Restore missions for settlements that are already powered.

While this is true, making the mission timers short doesn't exactly fix it; you can still stack a bunch of missions right before the BGS tick and end up not being able to complete them. They really should have put more effort into avoiding the issue completely (like adding a destination redirect or such) rather than making a half-hearted attempt that works "most" of the time.

I always steal mine. Goes against the grain but what can you do? Legit rewards for PR's are relatively few and far between so I do it to alleviate grind - which is already Quite Something for on-foot gear.

Not complaining: it just takes a good while for each piece/mod but that does mean you can procure other stuffz along the way *

* Which is always the stuff you're not looking for at the time. The game has an addressible implant it puts into your brain at game install time so it knows what you do and don't need and adjusts levels accordingly. Downwards. They call it AI. I call it Skynet.
