Powerplant output vs usage

I don't know if it's just me but I find the current power display on the modules screen to be worthless for setting module groups.

To explain the reason why it's important I have to first note that ALL of my ships are running excessive drains, so in every single one of them is atleast one module shutting off when I deploy the weapons due to the powerplant's capacity.
This alone is fine because most of the time it's just the fuelscoop (which for whatever reason drains full power in normal flight...) but when it's more than that I have to leave the station I'm currently outfitting in, deploy my weapons and check what drain I have.

Why? Because the current UI is awful at showing what the drain will be at max.
111% of 100%, oh wow that totally tells me how many modules will shut down, thanks UI.

This would be more helpful: (edited because my loadout on that ship only goes to 101%, but to give the idea)

If the UI would show it like that I'd know immediately that I'm fine with my module groups and that only group 5 will shutdown, as intended.
And not be up for a surprise like in the actual ship that had the 111% drain and shutdown groups 5 to 3 <_<

+1 for a great suggestion. I've thought this for a very long time.

In outfitting there is a similar issue with really understanding actual ship power usage and options under various scenarios like combat, where non-essential modules can be shut off.

Also, why would the fuel scoop draw any power when not in use - terribly inefficient unless the power plant must run at 100% all the time?

I have no idea why, probably because FD reasons.

But I tried it and when it is turned off the fuel consumption goes down, aka it runs permanently, instead of only in SC, or even better, only when needed.
