Powerplay 2.0 : what we know from partners' streams

We finally had the opportunity to see Powerplay in action from the partners' different streams, what about we use this thread to share some infos?

We know the ranks are gonna be 100 (!!!), that's an awful lot but the distribution of the bonuses seems better this way.
From now on I will only talk about top tier bonuses, not the progression (which considering the 100 ranks would be challenging).
Every Power will grant a reduced rebuy up to 100% in your systems and up 100% everywhere if killed by another pledged ship (don't know if NPCs or just players).
The unique Power bonuses (all available in your Power systems only) are gonna be:
Arissa Lavigny-Duval: 100% Bounties, -30% Weapon cost
  • ALLIANCE
    • Edmund Mahon: +50% rares trade payout, +25% trade payout
    • Nakato Kaine: +50% mining payout (all mining commodities, even the bought ones?), +120% Search and Rescue contacts
  • EMPIRE
    • Aisling Duval: +200% Search and Rescue contacts
    • Arissa Lavigny-Duval: +100% bounty bonds, -30% weapon modules price
    • Denton Patreus: +80% bounty bonds, -90% rearm cost, -40% weapon modules price
    • Zemina Torval: +45% mining payout (all mining commodities, even the bought ones?), +20% trade payout, +50% trade in Imperial Slaves payout
  • FEDERATION
    • Felicia Winters: +100% Search and Rescue contacts, +60% trade payout in Medicines and Food
    • Jerome Archer: +100% bounty bonds, -30% Weapon cost
  • INDEPENDENT
    • Archon Delaine: +30% Black Market payout, -100% for your own bounties
    • Li Yong-Rui: +210% exploration payout, -100% Rearm/Refuel/Repair, +25% trade payout
    • Pranav Antal: +50% exobio payout, +50% trade payout in technological commodities
    • Yuri Grom: +60% bounty bonds, +15% exploration payout, +15% trade payout, -30% weapon modules price
Too bad I couldn't find how Powers will affect their dominions (and if there's going to be a difference between exploited, fortified and stronghold systems).

The only thing we know for sure is that stronghold systems will have faction fleet carriers & their support ships guarding them. Both are supposed to be vulnerable to some degree

@Rubbernuke posted a screenshot somewhere that listed malware insertion activities as a PP 2.0 action you could perform in behalf of your power (in this case, Delaine). But whether you insert that malware into an opposing ship or an opposing PP settlement is, at this point, unclear.

From what I saw, you upload malware and spyware on foot in settlements.

We will have to see, it was quite hard trying to see of the other subtle details.

I did spot one dev say that the Tug Of War™ UI is updated hourly, so how that affects a system when it moves between between exploited, fortified and stronghold will be one to watch.

These might help for the King :D

And the Cyto is available at Rank 34

Its also interesting that Antal sort of becomes a foil to LYR with a new exobiology perk. I can see some agonised choices being made for explorer types.
Depending on how "Exploration" is defined in this 210% bucket, maybe it comes down to ship-first exploration versus on-foot exploration (and 50% of bio is probably more actual cash than 210% of Exploration so perhaps they are intended to be equally lucrative really?)

I for instance only bought Odyssey just in case, given how much we expected to change in 2024, and I still haven't actually sat down and figured out on-foot at all. There is definitely a market of players who just don't engage with the on-foot element and won't and it looks like FDev have actually thought about that a bit. (This is not quite the same distinction as "have they bought Odyssey?")

ETA: I hope there are some other factions that will work ok without on-foot. I did get the sense there would be from the previews we've had in Frontier Unlimited. Looks like sticking with Felicia might be viable for me.

How do payouts compare (exo and planet scans)?

How do payouts compare (exo and planet scans)?

Surveys: If you find a superhyperamazing system with ELWs and such, you can scrape into the tens of millions in total from a system. And then you'll need to be out in the black grinding through duff systems for a while before you find another one like that.

Bio: Some single finds are HUNDREDS of millions.

You'd have to factor both for how often you actually find big payouts, and how easy it is to find likely places for payouts using the tools available. I'm guessing FDev have done exactly that and worked out that exo is four times more lucrative than mere geology.

As ever the discussion around how bio is endless free money was somewhat overdone here, but it's definitely a significantly larger source of income compared to Horizons-only non-combat playstyles.

This really depends on how you split your time but 15-20m per hour for exploration is not unfeasable and may now be increased with the SCO. So 45-60m per hour with bonus. Exo can easily hit 100m per hour excluding first discovery bonus so Antal's markup of 50% seems roughly equivalent unless it's compounded with the first discovery bonus in which case it's hugely disproportionate.

That's a nice selection combining both flavour and being effective - I like it.
(Kaine's powers aren't obviously ones I'll personally use, but hey, I've got enough money already)

  • ALLIANCE
    • Edmund Mahon: +50% rares trade payout, +25% trade payout
It'd need to be a lot higher than that to make rares worthwhile again, but 25% trade payout bonuses makes some of the higher-margin goods very nice and working on every type is useful flexibility.
  • Nakato Kaine: +50% mining payout (all mining commodities, even the bought ones?), +120% Search and Rescue contacts
Thargoid Titan bio-storage is the only S+R with a decent payout rate, and doubling that would make it extremely good for a rescue specialist. But can you get to rank 100 before Cocijo explodes? Mining payout is a very nice one if you're into mining and even beats Torval.

  • EMPIRE
    • Aisling Duval: +200% Search and Rescue contacts
Very weak except for Titan bio-storage where it's amazing, though maybe this is a hint that there'll be more bulk rescue opportunities in future.

  • Arissa Lavigny-Duval: +100% bounty bonds, -30% weapon modules price
Nice and conventional, and there's a Federal equivalent too

  • Denton Patreus: +80% bounty bonds, -90% rearm cost, -40% weapon modules price
Mostly just a worse version of the Emperor in practice

  • Zemina Torval: +45% mining payout (all mining commodities, even the bought ones?), +20% trade payout, +50% trade in Imperial Slaves payout
Not as strong as either Kaine or Mahon on that side but if you both mine and trade a lot easily comes out ahead.
  • FEDERATION
    • Felicia Winters: +100% Search and Rescue contacts, +60% trade payout in Medicines and Food
Great for Rackham's Peak trips, but there's not much else high-earning in those categories yet.
  • Jerome Archer: +100% bounty bonds, -30% Weapon cost
Can't let the Feds miss out on the fun
  • INDEPENDENT
    • Archon Delaine: +30% Black Market payout, -100% for your own bounties
Incredibly good for those who want it.
  • Li Yong-Rui: +210% exploration payout, -100% Rearm/Refuel/Repair, +25% trade payout
Decent mix for the more peaceful players
  • Pranav Antal: +50% exobio payout, +50% trade payout in technological commodities
"Tech commodities", is probably pretty weak even at 50% as most of those don't have high margins. But 50% exobio is very nice.
  • Yuri Grom: +60% bounty bonds, +15% exploration payout, +15% trade payout, -30% weapon modules price
Continues being the all-rounder for people who want a bit of everything.
