My current goal is to get myself an Anaconda, having already kitted out my Fer-de-Lance, and am trying to do this via bounty hunting. I could do trading, but I think I would probably die of boredom a few days in. However, currently, it seems like bounty hunting may actually be more profitable in the short term. I did some fiddling with PowerPlay with Hudson to get myself to rank 2 for the increased bounties, however the poor sod has dropped considerably in the rankings due to the rampant Empire support, and I suspect the reason Avigny is currently #1 is people like myself using Rank 2 for bounty payouts to make bank. My question is, is it worth completely relocating and turning traitor to carry over merits to AdL in order to stack up on bounties faster? Because the last two nights I racked up about 10mil over about 4-5 hours total (I lost track of time in the flashing of lasers), and that was only with a 20% boost. Way I see it, might be a better decision to parasite off of AdL's current success to make more cash.

I can tell you what I did. I joint ALD because she is rated first, and started undermining. for 30 merits for an interdiction I was able to get 10,000 merits in a week. now all my bounties are multiply and I am doing around 14M an hour (!!)+ the 50M.
true, I am doing it with an Anaconda, which make it easier, but most of the time I'm dealing with Adders so you shouldn't have much problems with that.

Yes, I went from Dangerous to deadly by shooting a load of "elite" haulers when undermining this week
.. or you could hammer undermining to get rank 5, then your 100% bounty bonus won't be affected by your Power's rank in Power Play. Although ALD's Imperial Hammer is a worthwhile addition to any arsenal
Is undermining that easy/fast? I figured that farming military strikes or crime sweeps would be faster since everythings all in one spot.

Yes, PP vessels now hang out in all locations, which can be annoying.
No, I have not lost my ship to them. Make sure you are in a policed RES, the PP ships only seem to be there as the instance gets going, they do not spawn in constantly (your experience may vary). Make sure you are aware of any PP vesssels belonging to other Powers near you, and lure them to the System Authority ships in the instance, who will happily help you kill them.
DO NOT OPEN FIRE FIRST. They are often not wanted until they attack you.
