Powerplay benefits question

Hi,
Prior to going out to enjoy some exobiology and make some credits I joined the powerplay faction that gives the 30% benefit to exo' data, but did none of the 5 faction quests (5 i think) after joining. Im about to retunr to the bubble but don;t know if I will get the 30% without doing these, is joining enough to get the benefit or should i wait to hand in my data and the 5 quests

The 30% benefit is the benefit available having ranked up in the Power sufficiently - checking, you need to be at least rank 94 to get the full 30%, though you'll get +10% from rank 24.

You need to complete the 5 starter missions to unlock your rank at all. You'll then need to do quite a bit more on top of that to get to rank 24 or 94.

Probably you'd be best off just selling your exobiology data to one of your Power's systems - you won't get the bonus this time, but it will boost your ranking score, then do the intro missions to unlock your rank and get access to the merits from the exobio sale, then get your rank up to the appropriate amount before heading out on your next exobio trip.

thank you, sounds like good advice, i've only dabled in PP and don't get too much from it. You;ve saved me some in game time.
